how to reset game resolution back to default?

I was playing around in the game resolution menu and accidentally applied something too large for my screen. Access to the buttons is gone. I tried uninstalling and re-installing hoping it would reset but it stays too large. Any idea how I can get this back to a usable resolution?

Under "set launch options" in steam, paste "+graphics_safemode", launch once, fix your issue, and then remove the launch option.

Or, find where the options file is and delete it.

I use Linux (KDE desktop) but is the same in Windows, you can use ALT + Left-Button to move your window by clicking inside the window, until you have the "resolution" menu, and again to against the "apply changes" menu ;-)

I've had this game since I think November or October, and I've never been able to get it to run bcause of this same issue, the resolution is so big that the options button in the bottom corner is unreachable. Nothing changes it. There must be a solution surely since it's still selling.

Deleting the users file does nothing, uninstalling it does nothing. I tried installing a mod over it. Nothing. Getting really frustrated as this was one of my favourite games from about a decade ago and I've never been able to play it since the moment I bought it on steam.

Did you try adding '+graphics_safemode' to the steam launch options?

Uninstalling does not remove configuration. Check all the locations that loose files get left behind and delete them AFTER uninstalling.

Just had this problem after trying to change resolution through the steam link. Nothing above worked, but going into nvidia geforce experience (or whichever you use for your card) and forcing the resolution back to a working one through that fixed it for me. Hope that helps someone.

Something that worked for me was deleting the "graphics" file, then deleting all files in the "user" folder, and then verifying game files.

WIndows 11 users if you're getting like half a screen with black bars cutting off the game, take the following steps:

1 - Right Click Uplink in Steam > Manage > Browse Local Files
2 - Find "Uplink.exe" > shift+right click > Properties > Compatability
3 - Click "Change high DPI settings" at the bottom > Enable "Override high DPI behaviour" and select "Application" from the drop down menu
