Nice to see the game still runs like ♥♥♥♥.
GTX 1080
Ryzen 5 3600
32Gb ram

Not high spec but should be enough to play this game above 60 on medium without it being a stutter mess. Dont seem like its had any love in the performance area and devs have got lazy assuming everybody has a 4090 so they dont have to optimise.

and yes. I do have drivers up to date etc.

Then configure it to where it works. If I got it running on a laptop with a 1060 that I bring on the road running solid, then its you and your expectations and lack of understanding.
Hit the auto-config and stop whining about setting levels... you know or dont and keep whining

There is a lot wrong in your post.

"Not high spec but should be enough to play this game above 60 on medium without it being a stutter mess."

Why should it, because you say so? Your card is over 7 year old tech at this point. Drop settings to Low if Medium isn't working out for you. Upgrade your potato. Plenty of solid options out there to move to, look at AMD cards if you are strapped for cash.

"Dont seem like its had any love in the performance area and devs have got lazy assuming everybody has a 4090 so they dont have to optimise."

Extreme take. I have a 3080 Ti, Ryzen 9 5900X and I have solid performance on High settings. Bumping it up to Ultra tanks my FPS though, but it looked like it was switching on all kinds of ray tracing features at Ultra.

Ryzen 7, and i run it like a dream on high. Only 1 crash thus far, and beyond the first start up. No stuttering or fps drops.

Thats a 3 generation old GPU. What would you expect.I think its time to upgrade. MY GT 7900 XT is running great. NO issues at all with max settings.

1080....1080.....I surprised the game doesn't also slap you in the face when you click the icon for it. Seriously, why not try to run it on a mobile phone while at it?

After this update from today, I'm getting dips into the 30s and 40s with a 5800X3D and a RTX 4090. Something weird happened with this update and I hate it. It's like they nerfed the 5800X3D or something.

I'm on a 3060ti and I can barelk run this on Medium. Thinking you can run it on Medium with a card THAT old is cap. Yes the game runs like crap, but dude, a 1080? come on. Upgrade a bit.

If you are running AMD and you are getting poor performance, disable SMT in your bios. Same might help with Intel hyperthreading but IDK. Totally fixed my ♥♥♥♥ just now.
Dude they 1080 was released 7 years ago. This is NEXT GEN ENGINE. And its has nothing to do with the devs being lazy. No they did not assume everyone has a 4090.

I have a 2080 Ti and I can play the game perfectly fine. The auto detect for settings give me a mix of medium/high and I put textures on ultra and turned reflections to medium. DLSS quality 3440x1440 runs at 60-100 FPS. Only the hub and Skybridge tend to go as low as high 50s .

Why you even useing medium settings? Turn everything low or at least auto config and see it you can get better FPS with that. That card does not even support DLSS but FSR works everywhere right? So turn FSR up till you get FPS you like. I don't know its its possible at all to get >60 but you should be happy with >30 with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ card like that.

Seriously, stop blaming the devs for the fact that you can not afford a new GPU.

You are playing the newer game not the old one. Try running older game haha

Maybe try upgrading your 7 year old GPU? Or you're planning to stubbornly use it for the rest of your life? You don't need an overpriced 4090, I'm running the game butter smooth on high setting with a 6800XT which costs 1/3 the price of a 4090.

Game says recommended 1060.. So I feel maybe they need to adjust whats minimum etc.. Games that look 10 times better than this run waay better. I dont think most of you understand what optimised and non optimised means.
