So more close to Souls is always better for me, I think the very fist boss is trash in this game but visually its stunning and its has the simplicity from souls and feels similar but also weird.
You criticized parts of nioh which are perfectly fine which I called out as being wrong. opinions can be wrong, yours is.
I can criticize parts I don't like because they are subjective and unique to the individual. Please learn what words mean! I may like something you don't like, and you may like something I don't like. It doesn't mean either of us are incorrect. They are both opinions and subjective experiences. btw I know you haven't even played this game, so your opinion is rather worthless to begin with.
Your right most things around criticizing entertainment is subjective but what people need to learn is to know how to actually make SUBJECTIVE statements and stop making matter-of-fact statements as if their opinions are fact.
There is a huge difference between a person who says "Nioh is not my cup of tea because i don't care for the looting system" and one who says "Nioh 2 is trash because the gear system is badly designed and should be removed". One is clearly a persons opinion and one is more of a matter-of-fact statement as if it is a "factual view" on the game.
Disagreements between people on this platform would go a lot smoother if people actually understood the difference between subjective statements and objective facts (most people don't). I'm sure if you worded your initial statement in a subjective way other people would not take offense to it as easily.
I've noticed most arguments break out on steam because people are making matter-of-fact statements without any indication of subjectivity. Its always "this game sucks because....." or "this game is the best because...." lol
The problem with the OP is that he literally claims his opinion is factual and objective. Otherwise it is common knowledge what he says is his opinion and would be redundant to have to explain every time you have an opinion.
I prefer LotF, same reason why I loath Demon's Souls compared to Dark Souls.
That might be true but its a 2 way street as your initial post about your dislike for Nioh 2 also had a lot of matter-of-fact statements as if they were 100% true. This is a quote from you "Nioh had poor atmosphere, poor world design, poor armor and weapon designs, and so much useless junk you had to filter through, it was a real slog.", is that not a bunch of matter-of-fact statements?
You never explained why you thought they were poor, or anything you basically said "this, this, and this was all trash" without ANY subjectivity to your statement. Don't be surprised if people come at you with opposite opinions and statement in the same vein that you did with very little subjectivity.
OP was only responding the way you did. This is the perfect example of what I an talking about. No one knows what a subjective statement is on steam, but they accuse other people of the same thing they are doing (it will be a never ending cycle lol).
My statement should be assumed as an opinion though? I shouldn't have to write IMO or explain it each time. It's an opinion, it should be assumed. If I wrote, "matter of fact", or "objectively" than what you said would make sense. OP in his initial post says "The definite and objectively correct answer is ---- YES!." So I merely corrected him on his error.
No imo, because especially over text people need to be real clear about what and how they say things because its impossible to actually know a persons intent through text other then the WORDS they say.
Just because your use to making matter-of-fact statements that are actually just opinions, does not mean other people will read into it the same way you do, nor should you ASSUME people will take it the way you meant it. I'm a "literal" person, as I take what a person says at face value because words actually mean things. So you you say a certain statement I'm going to take it AS you WROTE it, not how you intended it, unless I know you in person.
There is a very high chance that if your initial statement was not a "matter-of-fact" statement of how bad Nioh was and you actually explained why you issue with the game, the other person would not have been so hard in their response to you.
I'm not excusing the other guy, but your both pretty much doing the same thing just on opposite sides, his response was just a little more aggressive then yours.
