I played a glass canon that everything in the game 1 shot me and didnt use all the things. You got good or quit that way
I beat the game though, it wasn't that hard, sekiro sword saint isshun was way harder than anything in that game by miles. Nioh had poor atmosphere, poor world design, poor armor and weapon designs, and so much useless junk you had to filter through, it was a real slog.
this
Nioh is a gameplay first game, souls could be argued to be atmosphere and exploration first game.
Imagine if I criticized a shmup for not having character customization options. that's how your criticism sounds. Nioh has transmog options for fashion, 15+ skin variants per weapon, an amazing variety and high quality all around, even in its weaker suits (which might be level design, but atmosphere? ♥♥♥♥ no. it's great involving war + nature, yokai taking over world, killing people. The death memories of people everywhere are fantastic for setting the tone. you can dislike it - denying it's well made is dumb.) If you had troubles sorting the inventory, it's a skill issue. for NG and NG+ you can easily sell everything but the gear with the best stats. there are a wealth of inventory sorting options.
Isshin doesn't come close to licking the ankles of Ryu from dlc 2 even on NG, you haven't experienced the real game.
you know people can have different opinions right? I gave you mine. I never said the game wasn't well made. Your comment is dumb though, you are acting like its a fact when it's highly subjective please learn the proper definitions of words before you post something this silly.
LOTF is much more closer to Souls then Nioh and its a pretty good game (minus the performance issues). Its probably the best Souls-like to come out in recent years for me. Everything from the combat, visuals, atmosphere, enemies, effects,.....etc, is top notch and imo the combat is much better then FromSoft Souls games, because there is a little more depth in this game.
Its actually to bad the launch was so botched because once you get the game running smoothly the game is excellent. I would even put it above Elden Ring and right under DS1, demon Souls, and DS3 for my top Souls-like games.
Or hear me out...... we can appreciate and enjoy both ;)
I never understood the argument of "my game is better then our game". Its like kids arguing over candy while on the playground lol.
