A fine game but using Unreal 5 is a disaster
Sorry I had to refund the game. The art work and world building is terrific. The publisher and developer of the game are listening to gamers, not woke ideologists. These are all good things.

However, the Unreal 5 engine is the biggest unoptimized slop imaginable and this shows itself in how the game runs. Although on my 10900k and Aorus 3090 extreme, it gets high enough fps in 4k, with a mix of cinema and ultra settings, there is still this kind of stutter and choppiness between the frames. This is absolutely fatal for an action souls like game!

There is no point installing this game on my 13900k and Aorus 4090 master because the visuals do not justify the hardware cost,

To the developers, if you can't properly engineer your game to run smoothly, you are walking down the garden path toward flop, after flop and eventually into your own grave,

If not, downgrade the illumination and reflect to intermediary. If u don't ray tracing enabled.
They are little bit of stutter at the entrance of an area and that's it.
I can max out the game except for ray tracing disabled ( so illmunation reflect to intermediate) at 60 fps 1440p with 7900xt + 5800x.
With no upscaling in pure rasterisation, i hate upscaling it sucks.
And except for the occasionnal stutter at the begining in an area it is perfectly fluid.
Also the game is very easy and ultra nerfed.

And yeah, UE5 is a mistake not that much upgrade from UE4 for twice less the frame.
Useless crap.

Also the game sold well enough to warrant a sequel. So you are factually wrong about flop.

And that made you uninstall the game and rant about it on forums.
You have brain damage bro.

I might have refunded it too early, or maybe I'll purchase it again when I finish my 4090 build. I do like dlss though.

What has upset you??

Oh I know, it was my 13900k and Auros 4090 master, which are both new and still in the box. Just to make you feel better, I'll be getting a 14900k soon as well. I get this all the time. If it'll make you feel better, I also game game on 2 of the best monitors ever made, the mighty Asus PG32UQX miniled and the Asus PG42UQ oled. I'm also loving my new Logitech g pro tkl Rapid keyboard. It's da bomb with hall effect, factory lubed and rapid trigger keys. It's beautifully built and damped luxuriously in PORON foam and other things besides.
The open post reads like someone who just got a PC and is expecting it to compute god.

No one uses ultra settings because those settings only exist to set benchmarks and test hardware, you're not meant to actually play on it. Besides, there is no visual difference between "high" and anything above that. You may think there is, but that's very likely confirmation bias.

If you can't accept that then I guess you won't be playing that many games in the near future.

I agree Unreal Engine 5 is crap and doesn't look better enough than UE4 to be worth it. But I'm guessing devs will be forced to use it because unreal engine 4 will lose updates for new hardware or something like that at some point. Which is awful to think of. Maybe UE6 will perform better but I'm not convinced even engine devs are good at optimizing anymore.
