Depends on the wording. There is always a loophole!
Sequel is a no buy from me, i am not using Epic and never did. I dont care about free games bcs many of them were already in my Steam library. I wont use Epic just for one single game and a sequel to Steam game at that.
Also there is a good reason why not many devs are doing Epics exclusivity these days anymore. Gearbox learned it (B4 is day one on Steam), Ubisoft learned it(day one new games on Steam with added achievements). Its still insane to me that Remedy was in such a bad spot that they needed Epic to fund their game but it is what it is. Besides Remedy there is no one who is sucking Epic off anymore bcs its not profitable in the long run. Cant wait when the CEO cries that pirates are the reason for poor sales or something. First game might not have been massive success here sure, but can you imagine how bad will sales be on Epic? Lmao.
You're partially correct. The game doesn't seem to be coming to Steam unless Epic decides otherwise, but Epic is only partially funding the game, not completely. But, considering that they're putting money into it and also helping develop it, I'd say the chances of the sequel coming to Steam are very low, like 0.1% low.
I'm'a gonna say its 50/50, many games are dumping devnuo after a year or 2, even after months, it means some executives have more awareness, so they are aware enough to not land lock their titles.
Its nice they are selling titles on epic for free to them, but that's not very profitable, but then again PC is always a secondary market if you sale stuff on PS5, or casual games on Nintendon't, unless you make non casual strategy games.. still it would be silly to land lock the title.
Nevertheless I will be downloading Epic for it and it alone.
