The sequel will be an utter failure on pc because...
Because nobody buys games on epic. The sequel is going to be Epic exclusive. This means no one will buy the game on pc. It's also a slap in the face to us pc players that bought the game and defended you all these years and praised you for your tireless efforts to fix and improve the game, making what I consider the best souls game period. All this will be destroyed if you go Epic exclusive for the sequel.

Look at Alan Wake 2, that game still hasn't made a profit on pc a year later because it's an Epic exclusive and no one bought it on Epic.

Do whatever it takes to break your contract with Epic and save your company and your reputation.

Thank you for reading.

I don't understand how the CEO is so based yet made a deal with Epic to forsake his biggest fans.

Which is why the sequel being a permanent EGS exclusive was the perfect move: if the game is going to bomb on PC no matter what, at least you get the exclusivity money from Epic.
It's going to bomb now. It would have been a success due to the good will and trust they HAD earned from working on this game for so long. And all that trust and earned success will be gone if they don't break the contract with Epic.

Because I will never ever spend a single penny on the EGS for any reason! I won't even download games for free! I would sooner buy it full price on Steam than get it free on Epic.
The reason they're accepting Epic's deal is because the game never managed to get an audience on Steam even when they worked on it for so long. The sequel was doomed from the start, but at least Epic is footing the bill this time.
Yeah. The exclusivity is definitely going to affect sales on PC. They better hope the money Epic paid them makes up for it.

ironically its the chuds who throw a temper tantrum when they see "body A and body b' in the character customisation screen.
Well and here you are complaining that you lost body type a/b. Who's really throwing temper tantrums?

I remember the woke crowd trying (and failing) to boycott Hogwards Legacy because they hate J.K.Rowling. These people even went so far to viciously attack a vtuber to the point of that person quitting streaming because of all the hatred she got just for wanting to play the game.

Regarding the actual topic:
If it's going to be an Epic exclusive it will definitely suffer in terms of sales. Not sure what the issue of the Devs/publisher is with Steam but they could also add to other platforms like GOG or even that Microsoft gaming store. Being exclusive to a specific store on PC is just like shooting yourself in the foot.

I 100% agree. If LotF2 remains on EGS forever, I guess I'll have to pass...

Frankly waiting a year to buy anything is the best thing you can do.

This is looking to be a permanent exclusive since Epic is helping to fund the production.

You can never know. Ubisoft and EA also didn't want to release their games on Steam anymore and look what happened. Low sales numbers forced them back onto Steam.

If Epic is involved with financing and forces them to stick with their platform as an exclusive then so be it. But they shouldn't complain about low sales numbers then...

Wow, no wonder they desperately tried to appeal to chuds.

Mid game AND it's only on a platform that's second string...

Yikes.
What's all this appealing to chuds thing? Why is the woke crowd so angry?
cuz they are losing cuz more and more devs are seeing those clowns arent buying games

It never lasts because Epic dose not have that kind of money. Even Sony can not do it anymore.

Certain regions are price gouged on steam by publishers, this isn't new, but a quick glance at crysis remastered trilogy on epic is 44.99gbp without sales, the same trilogy on steam is 74.99gbp without sales, mind explaining that one? Quick edit, this is just from glancing at the front pages, there might be even more, but you probably won't care
Certainly I can explain it. That is the fault of the publisher who can adjust prices by region at any time. Get mad at them, not Valve.
Can you explain to me why if Epic gets a lower commission that Epic exclusives aren't cheaper? For example the Kingdom Hearts games that were on Epic for over THREE years were priced at $50-$60 which is industry standard. Why weren't they cheaper? And many other epic exclusives like Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition is $70 which is the same exact price it costs for a physical console copy. Microsoft and Sony get the same commission as Steam. So why is it a digital game that has no manufacturing costs is the same price on Epic, who charges a much lower commission fee, as it is for consoles?
Checkmate again.
this is the end game of every single conversation that a epic games bot starts and ends with... i doubt you will see a response to this i honestly have been dying to see the real reason steam can be price gouging but sony and xbox arnt? but epic games 70$ titles are not? i hear the "xbox and sony make consoles" excuse a few times which apparently justifies the price? but steam makes consoles and hardware as well..

I don't get what the fuss is about.
It will stay an Epic exclusive for a year and then it will come to Steam with a good discount.
Just like Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Win-Win!
The publisher already revealed that the Lords of the Fallen sequel will be a permanent Epic Game Store exclusive, never coming to Steam. The same as Alan Wake 2.
Epic's new strategy is true exclusives and Lords of the Fallen is unanimously praised as the one true From Software games' competitor so it makes sense.
just means uncle Timmy is paying for extra copies for everyone.

The point was that steam isn't the be all and end all people claim it is when they shill it, steam is the monopoly, they are the old sony without all the old sjw baggage attached, but to the original point, if people want to buy it on epic, they will, peer pressure from others shouldn't dissuade someone from buying said game, i'd rather personally fish for prices elsewhere than be stuck in these dead end platforms buying at 15-30% over officially licensed 3rd party key sellers
^^ I love when people misunderstand what a monopoly is and think deserved popularity = monopoly. A real monopoly is when you control that particular market AND disallow anyone new from competing. By virtue of the fact the EGS exists and Valve has done nothing against them (and keeps winning btw) is proof Steam is not a monopoly.

Don't cast your pearls before swine. These people cannot be helped.
