Why is the sequel abandoning Steam?

We've been here with you for years, praised your pro-consumer actions. Seen you slowly and steadily improve the game for free, giving us what we want. But we don't want epic exclusivity. We want, and will only buy, on Steam. Why do you do this to us?

And it makes me so sad to see how hard you've worked to gain the praise of people, and you are completely abandoning us on PC because no one buys games on Epic. They're a terrible anti-consumer company, the EGS is still broken, and I will never use it even for free games.
