Beat the game, now what? Game seems to be lacking.
So I beat the game on all the difficulties including the "harder" more you unlock. Is there anything left to do? What happen to Inferno mode? Also does this mean all the weapons/people are unlocked? I don't appear to be getting anything new anymore.

Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardest, Inferno, Armageddon (DLC).

If you don't have Inferno unlocked then you didn't beat all the missions on hardest. "Beating the game on a certain difficulty" doesn't mean "beating the last mission (mission 60 without DLC) on that difficulty."

You'd better check that you have all the mission clear markers on Hardest for all 60 missions.

Inferno doesn’t really change anything. Numbers get bigger, enemies hurt more and are slightly more aggressive but have no new mechanics, you get some slightly different weapons and some more fun Lv3 variants that are typically weaker than the Lv4 versions with some exceptions but stomp in Hardest. It isn’t as severe of a change as the mutual powercreep of player and enemy in the mainline games. You are not missing out on anything but more grind.

I see thanks.
This game presents a simplified, streamlined take on the core EDF games. As in those games, the entire premise is to play through the levels on increasing difficulty settings, against faster/more (but ultimately the same) enemies (on the same maps,) and farm more/better weapons. Nothing more to it than that. It's a very simple game design premise, which is one of its appeals. The fun tends to come from the sheer ridiculousness/over-the-top-ness of it, and for those who enjoy it, the grind.

It's even better (worse?) in the core games. You have not experienced EDF until you've spent literal weeks grinding the same level for just one needle in a haystack weapon because it's basically essential for soloing certain later levels on Inferno, or autofarming HP/armor on the same level for weeks because you're insane enough to try to solo the whole game on Inferno. Be grateful this game is only as grindy as it is lmao.

I can't recall how many weeks I've spent grinding. Like spearing a any hole hours on end upping your armor and hoping to get an elusive weapon. So yeah, this game as grindy, but still enjoyable.

This is EDF, expecting more? At least i love how looting is more convenient and you can switch character anytime making it viable and not boring using the slow characters like fencer or even Ranger.

My guess is that youve spent about 12 days grinding since thats how long the game has been out.

As Others have said, EDF is all about grinding to collect all weapons, getting a tiny bit tougher each mission, and laughing maniacally as you make giant insects go BOOM!!

Even more sad, being disabled I've been playing this about 10 hours a day. lol. I do like the change of being able to multiple charterers at once so you got a good weapons mix. Wouldn't mind seeing that added as a feature in EDF 6.

I probably was one of the few that also enjoyed Iron Rains new take on things. Though obviously making it more fancy graphically did mean smaller maps and less swarms. Which in turn sort of made grinding a bit easier I think. I also enjoyed the irony that they made Iron Rain to fit more of what Americas like, and Americans ended up hating it where as the Japanese ended up loving it.

Had all trophies and nearly completed Armageddon the first week with a friend hosting on PS4 with a Japanese version. Friend finally came back and did the last few missions of Armageddon the other day and started DLC missions. Those are interesting. Should be unlocking for me shortly. The pack is supposed to release on the 10th, but I bought from the AU region store on PSN cause I'm tired of everything unlocking last for the US with that staggered region time zone release ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Majority of the the sales for any given game are in North America, but AU/NZ gets everything 14 hours before us. ♥♥♥♥ that.

I play Sandlot's EDF games in Japanese on PS4 because I don't wait for translations either, but wasn't buying a Yukes game twice after what a POS Iron Rain was.

Armageddon mode is an DLC difficulty that currently isn't available on steam at least in the america's right now. it seems other regions have it early for some reason. i know the Japanese version has it. im guessing they will add it shortly after the expansion coming out tomorrow.
Ah I see

It's part of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mission pack releasing tomorrow. It's already tomorrow in AU region, and Japan has had it for ages.
