Well two days have passed since the game awards and I've seen no review bombing or people raiding the forums with overwhelming backlash about their game not winning so we could say that you were wrong.
That being said, this game is definitely worthy of an award. The puzzle elements are unique and enjoyable.
I had this game on my wishlist long before the Game Awards, since I'm a fan of puzzles that have any sort of non-euclidean mechanic. Got gifted this for christmas, and I certainly enjoyed it. Didn't bang my head against any of the puzzles, but it was still very pleasing to experience.
Pizza Tower is awesome too, but in terms of difficulty, tastes and accessibility, I can see why the Game Awards judges or whatever preferred what's essentially an art piece with puzzle elements.
