i've been looking everywhere for help on this and i've finally turned here lol. how do i get the ethernet cable from the internet guy? i've run out of squirrel places for him to look and idk what else to do!

When punching the card, if I input an incorrect code, I keep the card so I can place it on the checker, resulting in the check failing. However, if I input the correct code, the item vanishes from my inventory, and I have to pick up another blank card. Because it won't let me check the card with the correct code, I can't progress....
