F13th is basically dead on PC, due of the famous endless lawsuit that de facto let the license to be not usable. No devs, no patch, paradise of cheater. Absolutely avoidable. On the paper, on the other hand, lawsuit apart, was way better than Evil Dead by a HUGE margin.
Said that, we all wait I think Texas Chainsaw Massacre as a true contender in the asym horror games genre.
F13's PROS:
ED's PROS:
Most of its cons are the inverse of the above lists. Both games are imperfect but at least ED is still kicking, so that's what I'm playing now.
A little miffed I wasn't able to get the Savini skin on this one since I did get Savini Jason and I wanted to make them both complete.
I can't speak for Resistance, is that still going? I thought it had been abandoned but IDK.
Resistance is in the same situation as Friday the 13th on consoles, still kicking
and really broken game too. no middle server, no anti cheat, no more update, balance broken too.
It has that nasty rep because it might as well have been for well over a year.
A group of script kids were able to hijack the netcode and ran hacked servers that would hoover up user traffic 24/7. This made legitimate match-making near-impossible, but it has been resolved.
F13 is the absolute best Assym hide-and-go-murder has to offer, if you are asking for a comparison. The developers clearly had just as much love and respect for that franchise as the makers did in this game, as well.
In that game the Survivors are practically passive & trying to escape, with only a very specific way to attempt defeating the Killer. The Killer themselves is completely hands-on, as well -- instead of being incorporeal and tied to environmental trigger points.
Grabbed that title a long while ago for dirt cheap, but it was already DOA. Glad to know it's been resurrected, because it seemed to hit a sweet spot.
It's a asym 3 vs 4, first in the genre. Due the work they did for F13, I got huge expectation upon this incoming title.
Don't fail me again, Admiral!
Evil Dead & Dead by Daylight are the only ones left.
Last Year got another "reboot" few days ago, but I ain't aware of the general situation after this desperate "reboot". I think that could be just another cashgrab.
