Beyond round 80 or so boss will despawn and leave a drop so save your ammo if playing solo
At the store page, the devs say this:
"Designed for playing solo, or up-to 4-players online. Short of a teammate? No worries, the intensity of Sker Island’s hordes scale to the number of players"
Ahem, ok, i'm saving my money here. Thanks again for this info.
It's not the same playing a co-op oriented and balanced game solo than to play a game that has a proper and balanced single player mode. Ofc we can play any game even if that's a suicide to be player alone or needs much more effort and grinding, but if a game claims to be balanced for single players and it's not, then it's bad design or bad balance, and it's not worth it unless i specifically want a hard challange (but for that, i prefer souls games that are well balanced for sp anyway)
I was talking in general about the difference of games that are sp with co-op and those that are co-op or mp and say "playable solo".
Talking specifically about this game, it's not about changing difficulty. If a game is meant to be playable alone, all the dificulty tiers should be proportional and equally fair for both single players and groups. If normal mode, for instance, is harder for solo players, then it's not well balanced or designed towards sp.
The game being more or less difficult in general also does not change what i said (but reinforced the idea of it being unbalanced)
Finally, according to other players reports here, the bosses has the same health for everyone, and that alone is bad balance (so you have a game harder for solo players or too easy for groups) But also reading that there's no noticieable difference playing 1 or 2 in enemies health, count or the damage they do...welll, at the very least the devs didn't work too much the SP mode and the MP mode to make both the same overall difficulty.
The game can still be fun and be playable solo, but it lacks balance between both modes (as you said, probably it mades the grouo playing easier and the solo playing at least a bit annoying as some things are harder than playing in a group)
I mean, can I play it offline?
[Edit]
Just saw someone ask if it could be played in offline mode, it seems like it can. I chose offline when I booted it up just now and the 2 multiplayer options were not available when starting a new game.
