There is a single player "campaign" in which you play over a large battlefield against an AI.
Where you try to capture islands to unlock additional weapons and vehicles. This is the main progression in the game, There is no progression outside of individual games.
Having played some of the "campaign" by myself i feel the map is a bit to large for this and i got bored quickly as it get really repetitive after a while.
The game itself is fun, and managing all the system and resources is fun, as are the battles.
There seems to be outright winning strategies that make it very tedious, but if you can vary your play style there is a lot to enjoy.
I think derping around with friends will make this a whole lot more enjoyable, and i highly recommend that.
Just be aware that as there is no other progression other then the unlocks in each individual game, the games against the AI will be very similar, And i would recommend playing on a smaller map against a friend, or 2v2's.
I would also like to add that the tech is suffiently diverse that each playthrough will be different because the available tech and available resupply will depend on how the tech is distributed on the islands, which is RNG generated at the beginning of each game.
So there is decent replay value.
What do you mean hard to hit?
Range to target / 50 is your time in seconds. Adjust up or down depending on if distance is closing or opening, and account additionally for if you're chasing the target or if they're chasing you. Typically Range / 50 is fine for chasing an enemy or an enemy who is moving away- might even add ten seconds in the latter case- and -10 to 20 seconds for an enemy who is closing depending on how fast they're closing.
Bearing is more or less current bearing, identify what direction they're going, and guesstimate the lead in degrees. The more you shoot the more you'll be able to tighten these up!
I've nearly smacked a Swordfish with a torpedo that hadn't activated yet- but having it activate two seconds before impact is still pretty damn nice accuracy if I do say so myself.
Enemy swordfishes use countermeasures and decoys. Wich are quite effective. I hit only 1 of 2 torpedoes at best.
For easy calculations - dividing by 50 is doubling with taking away to last digits/
And dont forget add 20 for the 90 degree turn (i.e. when you ara sooting directly forwad or backward)
