So how many hours do you have in Cloudpunk?
You can be a loner playing pretend with or without your friends in Nivalis for less than 24h before you leave the game behind for another. I want to see how people interact with the game. Not be in solitude; posting clips/photos/essays on external sites. I would like a world that feels alive. I would like to interact with the creativity, imagination, and experiences in-game with a community of players. I want to jump into Nivalis and question what will happen today in the community. Instead of predetermined algorithms guiding me to the same outcomes, which will only entertain the 1st couple playthroughs.
But thats my opinion, and knowing ION LANDS you dont have to worry about it since they aren't inclined to take such a epic venture. So you can be at peace knowing you'll get to play Nivalis for 12h all by yourself (and maybe a few viewers if streaming).
It could be the difference where all the effort made to enjoy all the beauty this studio creates is from moderate into legendary. Because it will be played with others. And accidently the whole studio team will be milionairs, because they deserve it!
Cheers
.
They haven't advertised it multiplayer so unless this game does really, really well I would not expect it later down the line. Just because a game has multiplayer does not mean that it will justify the expense of adding it. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to keep people from expecting too much.
A multiplayer Nivalis experience might be a good idea at some point, but I would not expect it in their next product.
This is such a weird take lmao. Not all media needs to be endlessly reusable - Die Hard is a fun action movie, but if you watch it 30 times back-to-back it's gonna lose some of its luster. Similarly, I'm having a great time with Cloudpunk even if I don't think I'll ever replay it. If Nivalis ends up being a fun little 10-20 hour motif of life in a cyberpunk dystopia, I'll have gotten my money's worth.
For the record, multiplayer would be fine. Probably even fun! But I don't think it makes sense to judge a piece of media based on the length of time you can engage with it.
