Is This A Fast, Spammy RTS or More Stategic Like CoH?
I love the genre but am more into Company of Heroes style RTS than a fast paced Starcraft type where you're just pumping out units for a death ball. I realize it's very similar to C&C which was probably somewhere in between the two. Cheers.

Thank you.
I think it game more like starcraft, slightly faster than aoe4. Ranked games rather fast, 7-15 mins

That's helpful. I play AoE4 and AoM and enjoy their pace. Not looking for a frantic experience. Cheers.

It seems comparable to old C&C, so much faster than COH, slower than Starcraft, maybe a bit slower than C&C3/Kane's Wrath. I'd say it's most comparable to RA2 and Tiberian Sun.

You definitely don't need the same APM as you'd need for Starcraft.

Just far more complex than RA2 and Tiberian Sun

The game is very similar to C&C3 (C&C 3 is a much better game), but because of the shortcomings in the game, there is not much time to strategise and think, the matches are very short. In Skirmish, even normal Ai is quite difficult and in 10 minutes it crushes my base with a crowd like a Mongolian army. If they cannot add the RTS features we are used to to the game and establish good balances between factions, this game will disappear.

Thank you all. I would have snapped it up if it was a little more forgiving rush wise. Ideally I'm looking for something that would fall into that elusive Goldilocks zone somewhere in the middle. Helpful community however; enjoy.
Yes, it's fast. It can be spammy but only if you want to play that way. Can also rely on fewer top tier units and just be smart about how you play.

For those saying there's no strategy, etc... Nonsense. At first, as you're learning the game, the factions, etc... it feels that way. But with experience and knowledge you learn to strategize, each faction can be played in a variety of ways and both factions are quite different from one another. A third one is on the way (presumably via an expansion).

Yeah the game is definitely a little too fast. Encourages rapidly expanding for more resources like a crack fiend, anyone that falls even a bit behind will get rolled over almost immediately. Defenses in this game are also very weak past the early-game... feels like some rebalancing is needed to chill things out.

A wall of buffed laser and arty turrets destroys everything land or air, defenses are strong and if you want, you can totally turtle

I agree with you on artillery, its the exception to the rule,, though teching up all the way there can be tough. Lasers though... you really have to invest a whole bunch of them into one area to get enough firepower, but that leaves another area completely unprotected due to their meh range. Great in a chokepoint I suppose.

@Phantus

OP, I agree with some opinions here and some not. It would be good to check some gameplay videos and make own opinion.

It can be, but doesn't really have to be, especially as Dynasty you need very little micro and can beat the AI with just Voltaic Tanks and Assault Gunners, so not that different from Avatar + Buggy in C&C3 as Nod. For GDF the Sky Crane + Engineer + Drone Operators combo is basically the new Mammoth (or Venom) A-move strategy, I can personally confirm that that is indeed viable against the "Normal" AI in Tempest Rising, though you don't get enough time for that on "Hard" and then have to micro as GDF.
