Why is "am" censored within in-game chat?

Why on Gods green earth is this game censoring normal words? The first time I noticed this I shrugged it off as maybe it was just me being a bit of a spastic. but just now noticed it again.

Anyone else come across this or know of other normal words being censored?

Not that it makes sense, but I checked urban dictionary and its supposedly meaning "♥♥♥♥♥" in Turkish and on some slang its "amateur". Turkish one is probably the most "reasonable" explanation.

But again, it would still be odd choice if it does that - havent tried it myself since I havent played MP. Yet anyway

You would think it would be able to tell which region or language was being spoken and adjust. Having a cross-reference of every single language's slurs/curses in every single language is a terrible idea/plan
