What is Tempest Rising?
Tempest Rising is a base-building, real-time strategy game set in a modern-day alternative history war scenario. It is inspired by classic RTS games from the 90s and 2000s.

How much does the game cost?
Tempest Rising is $39.99 USD.

Who developed Tempest Rising?
Tempest Rising is developed by Slipgate Ironworks.

What platforms is the game on?
Tempest Rising is currently only available on Windows via Steam.

Any plans for a physical release?
We do not currently have plans to release physical copies of the game.

Which universe does Tempest Rising take place in?
Tempest Rising is set in 1997. 100 years before the events of Ion Fury - The same universe as the other Slipgate Ironworks games, Ion Fury, Phantom Fury, and Bombshell.

Who composed the music in Tempest Rising?
The official soundtrack features 41 tracks from various artists, including the legendary Frank Klepacki and community favorites Michael Markie, Hexenkraft, Sigurd Jøhnk-Jensen, and Music Imaginary: Cielecki/Skorupa/Wierzynkiewic.

What languages are supported?
Tempest Rising has interface and subtitle support in English, French, Italian, German, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish (Latin America), and Portuguese (Brazil). All in-game voiceovers are in English.

Can I scale the UI in-game?
We have a UI scaling option under Settings > Game. However, you cannot scale individual UI elements at this time.

What system does Tempest Rising use for multiplayer ranking?
The Glicko-2 system is used to rank players in competitive games, considering both their skill and the reliability of their ranking. It factors in how often and consistently a player competes, making rankings more accurate and fair over time.

Why do units have different stats in Campaign compared to Multiplayer?
This is to maintain the balance of difficulty levels in the campaign while still being able to tweak multiplayer balance as needed based on community feedback.

How many players can be in one match?
The highest player count is currently 4 players. This can be any combination of 1 player and up to 3 bots and/or other players.

Why are the max zoom distances different between Campaign and Multiplayer?
Our single-player campaign was designed with a specific zoom level in mind for various game balancing and performance reasons. However, increased zoom-out functionality was added to Multiplayer and Skirmish modes.

Why is there a max unit cap?
The max unit cap is primarily there for performance reasons, but a secondary reason for this is that it helps us properly balance units.

Why can I not rebind certain hotkeys?
We plan to expand our hotkey customization options in the future.

Can I reconnect to a match if I disconnect for some reason?
There is no reconnect feature in multiplayer currently. We are working on adding this functionality in the future.

Will there be a Spectator mode?
We know how important a Spectator mode is to the RTS community. We plan to add this feature in a future update; no timeline has been announced yet.

Will there be Mod Support?
We have not announced any plans for official Mod support at this time. However, we do expect that players will inevitably mod the game on their own. The only line we draw on this is that you cannot use mods in Ranked or Quickplay multiplayer. This will result in a permanent ban from our servers.

Will we be able to play as the VETI faction?
This faction will be playable in the future. We have not announced a date for their release yet.
