As a long term Brotherhood of NOD member, it's a must have.
I really enjoy the design of the flame tanks and flame turret. I thought the design was better than in the tiberium wars. if a bit less well armored. lol.
I always play "blue" first. Then "red".
Like, the narrative wasn't the main thing in the GDF campaign, it's pretty straightforward - the Dynasty one tries a bit harder, but falls a bit short.
The upgrades you get for Dynasty are less interesting, too.
And, more subjectively, their units just don't work for me, lol. GDF is pretty straightforward and easy. Dynasty has harder missions, worse static defense (at least early on), and just overall feel harder to play (in the campaign - in multiplayer I can see them being strong... I'm no expert, but being able to send your harvesters anywhere early seems strong.)
Well, I played on 'normal' and made it to mission 3 which is impossible for me. The initial escort part is easy but when you get to your base, the game spams you with insane amounts of new info.
You are introduced to at least one new unit (machinist), you are supposed to repair the base, build up your economy and fend off attacks (with tons of tanks and infantry) from three sides all at the same time. Nocando.
Well, to get more practice, I decided to fire up GDF on 'normal'. First three missions were easy. Mission no. 4 started easy and I was wondering what people were complaining about in the threads around here but then I got attacked from the south by a huge force including these mini-gunners which, I'm not joking, shot all my turrets to shreds from out of the turrets' range within seconds.
I'll admit I'm not the fastest clicker, just average, but in the time it took me to click on the 'repair' icon, two turrets were already gone as well as the entire infantry squad I had parked there (drone operators).
So, now I'm stuck on mission 3 and 4 respectively and since you can not change campaign difficulty mid game, I would have to start over on easy.
That ain't gonna happen any time soon. I think I will wait a year or so and then come back to finish the campaigns on easy when I have forgotten most of the missions.
Sell buttion is o.
Power off buttion is p.
Missions are easy.
Build 2 referies asap, sell off 1 when you have 2 harvesters then mass produce basic infantry.
This will be your moble force.
Once you got 20 units focus on getting tanks and anti infantry verchiles.
I won every single mission by simply rapid harvesting followed up by unit spamm.
You can use q to select all units.
Shift q for all infantry.
Shift w for all tanks.
w for all units on screen.
cntrl left click for all units of that type.
You can hover over a unit in the group menu(Left center of the screen) to see what buttion combination does what.
All you need is critical mass and a fast moving force to attack and return when under attack.
The only threat is based defendsive.
And that is just a matter of numbers or adding a few artilierty units into the mix.
where's my giant laser cannon!?
Dynasty i mean
GDF. As The Blue guys are usually the introductory faction. I was wrong, difficulty spike is so much greater on the GDF side than it is on the DYN side, I would even argue later campaign DYN units are just superior.
