My Impression

So I watched 2 german reviews and an english review of the game as well as a little gameplay and ofc the trailers and screenshots.

I am not sold and I am a huge RTS fan.

Why?

This is at best mediocre in every way. I see nothing that other older games aren't doing just as well or even better.

And why is it that we have only 9 maps? And only 2vs2 as the maximum of players? Why do I never see 20 or more units on screen?

Red Alert in 2001 blew my mind.
Supreme Commander blew my mind
StarCraft2
AoE 3
Ground Control
World in Conflict

The list goes on and guess what they are all BETTER in so many ways.

Tempest Rising I understand is not a AAA product, but even for a B Game its surprisingly... mediocre.

Thats not to say that it is bad. I have huge respect for the devs. But the impression is not good I am sorry. I think I'd rather play my TS mod or some mod for Tiberium Wars.

Here's the sad part: Tempest Rising would have been the 10 times better game if it was a Tiberium Wars mod. Maybe not graphically but gameplay whise oh boy.

Anyone remember Mideast Crisis mod? That blew my mind. This here? A sorry excuse for the next "best" RTS.

So please I beg you, tell me I am missing something. Because I want this to be more than just mediocre.

it got walls, only you can shoot over the walls but not ride over the walls and gates....

I played the game, but it is lacking and misses elements that other CNC games and even other indie RTS titles executed better.

Lack of MP and missing third faction for launch is a joke.

It has 88% positive reviews on Steam (from 2,461)

So basically you know nothing then? Haven't played, watched some arbitrary "reviews" (I highly doubt it was informative or in depth at all)
And then you claim to be an RTS fan?

Sure mate...

I'd grant you that there's not a lot of maps yet, but the game's been out days. It'll grow as time goes on.
For the rest, it's a solid RTS entry and plays basically like a C&C with some SC2 command/control and pathing/clumping going on.

I've got no idea what clowns are "gamers" these days but f*cking ey mate...
I feel reminded by what Ellen Ripley said in Aliens...

So you would have preferred a half-baked 3rd fraction or no / even more delayed game release after all? If you don't like it, perhaps simply wait with your purchase till the 3rd fraction has been delivered in an update.

lol i wanna to refund but just got over 2 hours of gameplay and then trying to refund is a big drag... so i see it now as a scam instead of a game :) And yes i do that with most games and some i missbuy... this 1 of the games i just blindly bought and well totally dindt love at all but i wanna to see more and just like that when i saw its a failure i was over 2 hours of gameplay... its like they do it for those 2 hours...

dude.... only 2 factions in the beginning of a rts nowadays is just way to less...

He builds mostly just 2 units. Artillery and medium Tank. AI is not capable of putting up a fight or countering it with mass air or whatever.

Sorry but whoever is "amazed" by this needs to get his brain checked. Even C&C1 had more to offer.

At least the soundtrack is good. Frank Klepacki delivers at least.
