There are a lot of missions with timers that tick down.
15-30 mins.
Also if you are playing on hard or higher - you must gather big BLOB of units and AI just throws at you non stop attacks so you are forced into building defenses - hence another time waster. You can't win with "skill" unit control or unit composition on hard+
On normal one campaing will take you 5-7 hours probably.
On hard 8-10 hours of "gathering blob"
Game also have "Unskipable" cutscenes at start of mission so you are forced to MANUALY SAVE at start of the mission because if you don't you could easily waste 1 min everytime rewatching cutscene.
Game also doesn't give you anyclue how much force do you actually need to overforce Hard difficulty.
So if you don't save frequently you could find yourself going to attack in 25 mins into the mission and loosing everything because game scipted some "reinforcements" to enemy in mission and since "tempest" are finite resource that SLOWLY regenerates - there is no way to rebuild your army.
Overall - save a lot because game is very poorly design to WASTE your time.
I you feel your time is "wasted" by the playtime of this game, why do you even bother playing it at all?
And why do you hit enter after every sentence? Your text looks a bit messy this way, don't you think?
Also do you expect to be spoon fed how many troops you need, to "overforce hard difficulty" (not sure what this means, did you mean overcome?) because that's not how RTS games work.
The classic and best C&C and Red Alert never did this, it is trial and error and all part of the experience.
If you don't like this maybe RTS isn't for you.
Obviously other people are loving it and don't find these things a problem from the reviews, as they are all very positive.
Also to answer the OP's question it seems to be above 25 hours from some other threads inc Reddit that have asked the same question :)
I suppose waste playing game is better than no playing game you spend money on it, there is some game are worse and can't get refund even 2 hours, some player might spend $100 on game, but not play beyond 4 hours, or less, that is worse. Game like skyrim spend $60 yet playing 2,000 hours isn't waste and it's good deal.
Now I did spend $50 on this game, but I done with all campaign within 30 hours on easy mode. I enjoy so far. so it's not waste, even although it's little more than $1 per hours cost value, while Skyrim less than $1 per hours and it's very good deal for player, best money for many hours, if people do not enjoy, hours would not waste but they just stop played and not spend hours anymore like crusader kings 3, I spend $100 on sale, yes even Sale on whole DLC along base game, yet I only play 4 hours, I tried to learn, I try to like it but I find myself it's not fun and couldn't refund at that point, so it's bad waste money, Oh, well. Sometime you get good game for good values and sometime you got bad game and too late for refund, you lost money for not playing it, it's better waste many hours playing than no playing game at all with no money back if you do little enjoy to get most of the game.
