Two Biggest Gripes

Lack of maps, nine for an RTS is micro, the maps are mostly too small
The biggest being there are truly no big epic units, mechs, walkers and such, this is a massive letdown IMO, this was a cornerstone of CC and RA games.

It is clear that they pushed out a solid foundation at this point to test the waters. The publisher does not want to take big risks and sell more DLC down the line.

If the game proves to be a success I think we will soon be able to buy the third faction as DLC and then they will sell some DLC maps and cosmetic packs.
Maybe even an advanced access pack to play the new fraction. In tiers.

@Fraggle, I haven't been following this game at all other than wishlist a year ago. Where did the developers say that the 3rd faction will be added automatically later and at no extra cost? Was it a video or in a press statement?

It's on the splash page of Steam for the game, three factions, one coming after launch.

Can you share where they've confirmed this? Iirc they just said that it's coming after launch, but didn't specify if it's a free update or a paid one.

This was from the Devs earlier this month:

"In December, we initiated a comprehensive overhaul of our working processes to ensure we are as efficient as possible with our production schedule and developer time. This was not a trivial effort, but we are happy with the results across our teams.

This included a detailed overview of what we will be able to deliver at a high quality by our launch. While, for the most part, this will result in higher quality content, we had to make the hard choice not to have our 3rd faction playable at launch. Mechanically, we are very far along with their implementation and plan to showcase them in the coming months. Still, we want to be sure that what we deliver to our community is the highest quality possible. While this was a difficult decision to make, we determined it will be for the best in terms of launch quality for the game as a whole. We plan to add them in a future update to ensure the best results in balance and polish both for the GDF and Dynasty at launch and for the 3rd faction once added to the game."

Yeah, exactly, unfortunately months away, though it will be here and will be a free add on for all those that own the game.
