So you are saying that if a 25 years old game did its fine for another one to do the same thing 25 years later? Wow... Why not just go back and play that one then? I want a rts game in the style of the old CC but modernized for the year we are in.
yes 2 to 3 factions is fine will love to see it expanded on later on but 3 at the start of the game is fine i mean starcraft even has 3 factions only and that whas mostly newest RTS that survived in modern day so Sush
The thing is, its 2 factions, not 3. So sush yourself since you don't even know with how many factions this game launches.
Because many people are immature and are desperate for validation in this forum, which is awkward on its own.
Dawn of War has a rich LORE where other factions exist and therefore very easy to pull from. BFME 2 same thing, COH2 is WW2 so again more factions, same with all the others. No wonder they all have more than 2 or 3 factions.
Im sure if the game is successfull, we may even see more factions.
Can we get examples of fictional RTS games that have more than 3? Starcraft? Stormgate? Grey Goo? Supreme Commander? BAR? All have 2 to 3.
Em this would just mean the devs have an insane lack of imagination. The problem is not that you need "lore" to pull from, its time to implement it. Animations, models, sounds, balance etc.
You have some many rts games out there so doing something similar to other games is not rocket science.
And two while soft? Wow, that is underwhelming.
Can't see how this will fit well.
She is feeling disappointed, to be honest. She'd rather pass. She doesn't play pity ♥♥♥♥ and only play BBC. But, with only two inches, your itty bitty is gonna get old fast.
That said why are some people acting like they're all 2500+ elo in the Broodwar ladder or GM on wc3champions and care so hard about perfect faction balance? Especially since i see some of you say in other posts that you only care about the campaign anyway? The Command and Conquer games were never balanced, even the old ones. Every RTS except the Blizzard ones and Age of Empires 2 have failed to have any sort of long term mainstream e-sport relevance and this will be no different. Obsessing over multiplayer balance is just a white whale of mediocre players. The good players either exploit the imbalances or find ways to work around them and still win.
Also why act like having only 2 or 3 factions is some sort of sacred cow of this genre that needs to be defended at all cost? You people are as silly as the op calling the game already failed just because it only has 3 factions.
There are a lot of very good RTS games that had more than 2 or 3 factions, actually look it up for yourself instead of posting some bs AI response. Imagine saying Dawn of War only had 1 faction on release because you only played the campaign and never touched skirmish. And no, Starcraft 2's other factions didn't get "massively reworked" in their own story expansions, everyone, including the Terrans, just got new toys every expansion. All three factions were perfectly playable and competitive at launch,
Hopefully this gets more long term singleplayer content because that's what will make it have a long lasting impact on the "average joe" and make them keep coming back to it.
The Warlords Battlecry series, Battle Realms, the Spellforce series, Total Annihilation Kingdoms, Kohan 2 Kings of War, Age of Mythology, Seven Kingdoms series, Five Nations. Just a few examples off the top of my head, none of them with a big IP behind them.
This game is Inspired by Red Alert which had only 2 Factions and was best RTS of its time.
Star Craft is even to this day one of the leading RTS games of all time, and has 3 Factions.
Most games that try for more factions lose their edge by trying to balance too much (with a few exceptions)
So just to make sure you're saying game is bad because the developer didn't make the game you wanted them to make?
I'll give you the all immortal answer if you want a different game go make one yourself.
Because all you're saying is the developer vision is wrong and they should have made something completely different.
