WASD camera controls?
Hi does the new demo support WASD camera controls? The last one I tried WASD wasn't usable. I have slow internet and don't want to download if it doesn't. Thanks.

Others have already covered it, but just confirming that you CAN remap the camera controls to WASD!

Go to settings and change camera controls to wasd.

These controls can be remapped to WASD, though no option to disable edge scroll, remap mouse camera controls, mouse capture can't be disabled (not working), etc...

yeh WTF no WASD ?
I think it's because some of those keys are used for stuff like Attack Move (A), etc. I get the design intent but it feels outdated. Make something like ctrl-right click attack move, for example.

At the very least they should have an alternate keyboard default setup option--sure, you can manually rebind all the keys, but that is a pain and the devs already know which keys are most important given certain units and the overall pace and style of the game.

Other strategy games like Total War and Stellaris do. No reason that RTSs specifically should not support it. I felt this same pain in CoH3 and view that as similarly outdated in that sense, though apart from that it's a terrific game.
there are a few modern RTS games with WASD and attack move on ctrl.
rebinding not possible in tempest?
You can change them to use those cam controls as it's what I've done

This game has 'attack move' (which will target 'threats' only - enemy units and buildings that can attack you e.g. will attack a turret, but not a barracks or silo etc.) on [A] and 'attack move all' (all enemy units and all buildings) on [Ctrl].

I do wish edge scroll could be disabled. On an unrelated note I also wish you could bind "shift+key" to commands. Pretty standard stuff for an RTS i would think.

Most standard control features of RTS from the last 15 years are missing... feels like a stillbirth.
Featured by developers who aren't into playing RTS...

I usually scroll to the edge of the screen or click on the minimap. Sometimes, I use bookmark hotkeys and (rarely) right-click mouse drag. I rarely use the keyboard and if I do, it's arrow keys. WASD is reserved for other bindings.

If you have camera on WASD, where do you put unit commands, unit abilities, commander abilities and build menu keys?

Or do you just click stuff in the menu for your macro? i can see how that would be viable in something like CoH where you micro only a few squads, but this game needs you to go nuts on the macro.

If you set camera to WASD you save yourself so much time with mouse you can just click on everything else. It's very intuitive and feels great, like you have a lot more control.

Alternatively just move keys to somewhere else. You only need 4 keys.

Big plus für WASD camera controls.
COH3 also has alternative key settings implemented with WASD to pan the camera. All key bindings for unit abilities or whatever can just be mapped to a keys further to the right.
Can´t be to hard to have one guys think this trough for a few days or so and then implement it. I could do it.
