This issue should be resolved now! Try restarting your Steam client and relaunching the game.

I had the same issue. It doesn't return a error. I verified the files, checked requirements (everything is ok), but when I press "Play" it goes green for 2 seconds, nothing happens and it goes back to the "Play" button state. Feels like it doesn't start the executable.

If I explore the files and try to open directly it returns a error about "UnregisterAppConstrainedChangeNotification" in "pros.sdk.x64.dll". I know I shouldn't launch like that but it's only thing I could try. I'm not on W11 but on W10 btw. Thanks for your attention mate.

same. though it use to full system crash my machine, now it only crashes to desktop
Nvidia RTX 4070TI
still crashing for me as well, game is all updated. only crashes on campaign, skirmish modes works

In both campaign and skirmish modes, the game crashes within approximately 5 minutes after starting.

Update: I'm using an Intel 12th-generation CPU, and after updating the relevant drivers, the problem was resolved.

Th is still an issue. Game does not open at all for me

Same for me. Tried a bit last 2 hours but everytime i start the game it crashes the PC and the PC restarts or it freezes for a long time so that I have to press the restart button.

One time (i did like 15 tries to start the game now and this one only showed up once):
I actually got the red colored backscreen of the intro or main menu and within a second the crash occured and an error message was shown for a few seconds "not enough video ram".

Just to be clear: i haven't run anything else. The PC was fresh started and the 16GB GDDR of my 4080 were unused. Anyway here are my PC compnents:

Hardware:
Graphics: Asus TUF Gaming 4080
Mainboard: ROG Maximus Z690 HERO
CPU: Intel i7-12700k
RAM: 2x G.Skill Trident Z.5 5600mhz 16GB (so 32GB RAM) (XMP Profile is active)
Power: ASUS ROG Thor

I did the following steps to try getting rid of the problem:

1) restart (obviously)
2) graphics driver update to NVIDA driver 576.02 Game Ready Version
3) ran Windows Memory Diagnostic -> no problems found
4) ran DxDiag -> no problems found
5) went into the game data folder: Steam -> Steamapps -> Common -> Tempest Rising -> Tempest.exe -> rightclick on it and set execute as administrator -> apply.
6) deleted the game and re-downloaded and re-installed it again
7) tried to start it with DX11

Nothing helped. Yet: Steam shows i have like 37 minutes /played into the game but I havent even seen the main menu buttons once.

Hope there will be a fix to this issue soon.

Best Regards
