I believe originally the game was going to have a third set of campaigns for the veti faction, but in order to focus more on quality etc... they decided to release with only 2 campaign sets, one for gdf and one for the dynasty. However the veti will appear in these 2 campaigns just as non controllable opponents. It has been hinted at that later on a veti campaign set may be released

I don't think so. They explicitely said on very the same day they announced the game that the third faction wasn't going to get a campaign.

Yeah, I remember them stating that there was going to be 2 campaigns in the game description ever since I first saw the game back in 2023. I do hope that the Veti Faction gets a campaign sometime though.

That game doesn't look beautiful, the game feels like a MOBA with circle abilities with colors that look weird, dow3 had this as well, it makes the design cheap and MOBA.

Well, I've played the Beta too, and the game IS definitely fun. But I am afraid it won't be for much longer if they change it too much.

Act of Aggression Reboot Edition is a good example of an RTS developer who didn't understand the basics of gameplay mechanics.

AoA Reboot Administrative Center generates 25 Credits every two seconds, costs 5000 credits. In comparison Black market from Generals Cost $2500 and makes $20 every 2 seconds. So by spend 5000 credits, you get in AoA Reboot 25 Credits, in Generals 40 Credits in same time. They simply did get the mechanics wrong by Act of Aggression.


You see the ongoing issue by RTS is, that developers do try to make small games,
with medium and large scale mechanics.

You kind of need either the right mechanics by a small scale game
or increase the scale, or you have an annoying and boring game.

We had seen in the past people simply have a harsh reaction for undercooked games.
It doesnt mean they are bad, but really need more time. Tempest Rising needs more time.

You keep saying that, but, again, I've played TR and its neither annoying or boring so you are wrong. And the risk that they screw up that game for the same reason and in the same way EUGEN screwed up AoA is very real.

1 Problem by both versions of the game, they didn't do what the community wanted.

Like with the example where the end game buildings gives only half the money and cost double time more.

The thing is, people did point out, Original Act of Aggression as the game failed already.

It was less than a month dead online. So they were quite clear make it like C&C Generals, Act of Aggression Reboot Edition did make changes, but still like the example with economy, they didn't do the necessary adjustments and changes to be like people wanted and left the game for dead.

2 And that why I do see Tempest Rising in same situation alike original Act of Aggression.

The game is going to fail if they keep it the way it is. Once it does fail it will be either abandoned or we get Tempest Rising Reboot Edition, that still won't get the C&C mechanics right.


3 This developer is even less experienced than the one from Act of Aggression.
Its like we see a new developer try to make Dawn of War,
but we did see in Beta DoW3 all over again.

I doubt till release its possible for them to get it right,
without additional time and feedback.

4 I would compare Tempest Rising to Conan Unconquered, it's a nice game, but clearly the less popular clone of They Are Billions. They did half the economy, which reduces the scale, made the units slower but did keep overall same mechanics as They Are Billions. In direct comparison it seemly did feel inferior, as in Original game you would do more, build more and command larger army.

I don't say Conan Unconquered should be 100% copy of They Are Billions, but if you nerf in comparison to original game, you get the lamer game. The same is overall with Tempest Rising, you just can't get the feeling to have a game equal to C&C.

i dunno about that, this game feels pretty close to cnc, more so than any rts since. kinda why i think many people are looking forward to it.

You seem to think that there is only one way to do a C&C-style game right.
You don't seem to appreciate that the different C&C-games differ greatly from one another and because of that there are different sub-groups of C&C-fans with different tastes.

I get that you don't like the direction TR is going. But I also think that you greatly overestimate the importance that your sub-group has for the success of an C&C-like.

The impression that I get from the Beta is that the devs have a really clear idea of what game they want to make and what people they are trying to cater to. They will success if they hold true to that vision and make the best possible game for these people.

They will fail if they, like AoA, try to please everyone or cave in to the loudest voices in the crowd.
More delays aye. Not surprised. Been a long time now.
Glad to hear it finally has a release date.
Shame there is no plans for the 3rd campaign but hopefully the game does well and we get a dlc. Please not 4 locked missions of scrin then dropped after that...
