Crazy how this game is coming out close to 3 years after it was announced, almost there for some nostalgic RTS action!

Hope it's worth the wait.

3 years doesn't seem abnormal for a AAA game does it?

I am afraid that it will end like "The Crossfire:LegionS" - game that looks beautiful but gameplay and mechanics are both unbalanced and strange - ending in the "trash bin of Forgotten titles". Pity becasue the Tempest resources itself suggests Grim Dark settings and "Dark" and "BiologicaL" Alien?Mutant race (not fcking "Space Ancient Egyptians"). Pity.

na the world and vibe of this game is soo much better than crossfire legion. CL had the most generic boring world and story ever , along with super boring designs. It had an even lower pop cap , awful designed campaign that wasn't even finished on release.

TR has a full complete campaign from day one for the factions, and a complete mp experience. The world is interesting, the music from what they have released on youtube and in the demos has been absolute top tier , as good as the best of any CnC game.

Na it a do much better than that game by far.

The way I see, developers should first reach certain milestones, than release a game.

-1- Open beta to gain feedback
-2- implement the feedback and ask people for approval
-3- double and triple check if people are actually pleased with the game

-4- organize a community council for PvP and PVE, keep PvP and PVE separated
adjust the game so each game mode works out.

well they pretty much did all those things. so we're just have to wait and see if they nailed it

Who are the community council?

I played CL, TR is 10x better imo

They do have 2 separate builds for SP and PvP so they can make balance changes in one without breaking the other. I was in the closed beta and it was excellent, the team was very involved as was the community. These guys are dotting all the I's and crossing all the T's

You see RTS do get too positive initial ratings because they are RTS. And are so rounded with too many yes sayers like Streamers and Paid reviews, and in closed beta you do get people who kind of are very desperate to play a new title.
Its like give bad food to a starving person, he won't complain.

We did not have open beta, where you see what your average gamer does think.

They are not an experienced RTS developer. Allow me to remind the fate of recent AAA RTS alike DoW3, Homewolrd 3 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin.
They face a similar challenge.

Problem is by that time they go into an open beta,
they kind of have too little time to actually deliver the game, the people want.

The "average gamer" doesn't exist. Especially not in RTS, which is a very segmented genre with many different and contradictory tastes.

Playing the beta I got the impression that the team (especially Brandon) have a very specific idea of how they want their game to play like. I think it is a much better idea to make the best version of that than trying to make the game as bland and generic as possible to not offend the lowest common denominator. You have to look only at Act of Aggression to see a dev team that wrecked their game trying to chase the popular opinion that doesn't exist.

Look, I'm sorry that TR doesn't cater to YOUR sepcific taste but that doesn't give you the right to decry anyone who likes it as desperate or whatever.

So right about AoA , I really enjoyed the gameplay loop with the 3 resource types (however their teching mechanic was way too complicated) but when they removed the 2 secondary resource types they just neutered the game

Especially after AoA I have so bad feeling about this,
as once they underperform they go into panic mode
and aren't able to address the issues.

We never have seen an RTS developer to recover from a bad launch.

Problem is, if you figure out after release that the game is flawed,
you kind of don't have any more the budget to get it right.

We all understand the is a pressure to release games on time,
but without proper gameplay, it's not a game.
And gameplay needs a lot of time.

The way I see it Tempest Rising isn't getting the time it needs.
