It's trying to be more like Generals, CnC3, and RA3.
So it's simply not trying to be the kind of CnC that you like
Still, I don't like if every unit in other factions need to have abilities too. Like Red Alert 3.
Support powers are okay in Generals and Tiberium Wars, maybe they need to be more prohibitive or tone down their power (especially the 3 star general offensive abilities). Red Alert 3 support powers are the most annoying, even in skirmish.
And yes, the game is being more to Generals, Red Alert 3 and C&C3. Which is weird because I remember being told they were being more to classic RTS like C&C1 until RA2. Generals onwards feel like a modern RTS.
When I was asked to spend points on one screen and then purchase things on the next, and trees here and abilities there and the hint coming up telling to switch ammo, what the hell.
No it's definitely not for me, even though I like the visuals and general "feel" of the game.
GDI : spam Riot van carrying engineer and drone operator .
Dynasty : Spam Havoc carrying technician .
Both do insane damage in short time and they are cheap to replace .
@Oompah . But the game insentivises to do so.
It is the same with Generals. Yerah, you do not HAVE to use the support powers, but you'd be stupid, if you didn't, because they're really strong.
@Tenshinen: That's...what i said. ^^'
It is not MY game. If it's yours, then alright, BUT....do not blame me for thinking it, because it is riding the nostalgia-train for the OLD CnC really hard.
I was just looking for a simpler game and yes, this game doesn't want to be that game, so it isn't the game i am looking for.
You have to take a bit time to understand the mechanics. At the point you understand them, its pure fun.
Doctrines and armory gives you so much options to customize your armi for different playstyles. So you can field your army in the way you like and prefer the most.
The sentinel can switch the weapon, to a marking gun. This allows you to gain intel for tactical advantage. But for the prize of lesser output by the alternative gun.
The most important thing is, that this is an option. You dont have to switch.
Tempest rising is already the best modern oldschool rts I have seen in almost two decades.
Same here with insane diff.
GDI: only made field scouts
Dynasty: only made dynasty guard and missile trooper
I mean you're right, and it was not meant as a complaint about the game.
It's just that this is not what I am looking for (or want) in such a game, and therefore it doesn't do it for me. It can absolutely still be a great game, just not for me.
