Steam sync/login not working

Launched game as normal but it went to the new game opening for some reason. Logged out, try to sign back in with steam and it returned to the new game opening again.

I've restarted steam, restarted my PC and any time I try to login now it just opens the 'create' a new character screen.

I was playing on my Lv1660ish account just hours earlier.

I've checked the text file as others have recommended to make sure I had but it shows my steam id, email0 and emailverifiedF.

Is there anyway of restoring my previous account?
