Spelunking?

I went into the cave and got to the boss and it says to just outside of town and stand by cave and level up. Well I found where it is and I went down and stood there and had the bar moving up with the mining hat. But when it fill I dont get XP in spelunking? Can someone please tell me what im missing?

It doesn't level up every time it fills the bar. Not sure how it works exactly as it levels up but it takes several bar fills so your guys should level up too.
I'm surprised you never noticed them level up a few times by the time you wrote this post though.

If you just started the XP is VERY minimal and gotta leave your fella's there for a considerable amount of time to level and get scrolls. A good skill if you are takign a break and need to plop everyone somewhere

It says 0 of 25 and didnt go up. Not sure how much under zero it gives but I sat there for a while and the bar filled up several times and I looked at the XP bar and still zero. Well I just went back on and left it in there and will see if I can come back to XP thanks.:)

If you look at your afk info while in a spelunking area, you'll likely see you don't have enough spelunking efficiency to reach 100%. Until you reach 100% you'll only ever have a chance to get exp and scrolls every time the bar fills.

Oh ok. I didnt know this AFK was different then the others really. I will see what its up to when I go in at daily reset.

It's best to think of it like how you can miss while mining or chopping if you don't have enough efficiency in those skills for the particular ore/tree you're on, only instead of a single "hit" with a pickaxe or axe it's your bar filling up for spelunking

Wow my man was in there for over two hours and didnt get anything. Is this like the place I cant close the game and have to collect AFK with game open? Or is it that rare at first? I uploaded two screen shots.

I see 0% spelunk chance in your screen shot, so you must be missing something. Should not need to leave the game open, just need to find some spelunk efficiency. One of the Troll boss cards gives % all skill eff that works with spelunking. How far have you gotten in the minigame?

Ok ill try and put a card on. I seen the 0% but the tunnel tells me to go here and start leveling up. It dont say get anything to help it along thanks.

Edit: Man I just put the one you said and the one I just got from the first world that says Spelunking but I am still at 0%. Man.:( I been playing this game for a while and never needed this kind of help. You would think even using my energy in the caves would give me XP on spelunking.

The only other things I can think of, Prayers, there's one that lowers Eff and boosts Xp, and one that boosts Eff and lowers Xp. I think you already had the correct one on in that screenshot though. Card Set is another one, one of the first ones (the third on the list i think) gives +all eff. I'm not sure if the talent on page 1 (bottom left corner) affects spelunking but that's a major source of Eff so it's worth checking. (edit: doesn't look like the talent works)

When I started W7 the only time I had an issue with spelunking gains was when I had the prayer on that reduces skill eff.

Have you beaten the first lore boss on level 7 of the first cave? I assume you're on the FEAR HOLE! Quest and that you have already beaten the possum boss. Have you found the pig for the stamp? I see there's an efficiency stamp from Snootie.

Yeah I beat it and it has a pop up that says I need to go to the area just out of town and AFK for levels. I did and that was in the screen shot. Next time I go in ill see if I have a prayer like that on but im not sure I would have turned that one on.

I had the less skill XP on and turned it off and still at 0%:( Man...

I still havnt figured it out. I cant even try another person because I only have my main there. I dont see why im at 0%.:(

I found a reddit thread talking about the same issue. Having less than 25 efficiency seems to be the problem. The troll boss card, the Equinox Broadbass card (level 3 worked according to reddit), the card set bonus, and turn on the prayer that boosts Efficiency and lowers Xp, that's all I can find on it. Once you get enough efficiency to start slowly collecting the scrolls you'll be able to use the scrolls to level up the lore bonus for more efficiency and it starts to snowball.
