Abominations need a save state

I just had a power surge that made my entire house lose power for a fraction of a second. That's all it took to lose an entire day of progress on a world 4 abomination on my wind walker. It's really gut wrenching to know I have to start that fight all over again.

I know it sucks, like anything you could 'lose' in the game, but i highly doubt that will happen.

huge tip for general efficiency: time how long it takes to do one point of damage (so like 1b, 1T, etc) if it takes longer than 6-10 hours total, it's not worth attempting and you are better off dust gathering.

Yeah oddly enough I lost like a day and a half of progress last night still trying to kill the last W4 Abom. I had it to around 20% and came back to my PC being completely turned off for some reason. I think I'm cursed trying to kill this thing. I've given up at this point to do like you said and just farm more dust.

It's awkward cause a lot of the time the abomination is the best dust spot.
