Trying to put things into chest

When i try put things into my chest it keeps saying "cant during quick ref" what the heck does that mean?? please help

"Quick Ref" lets you check on stuff like Storage, Alchemy, Anvil etc. without actually being at their location.

So you can only check your items, progress on those etc. without being able to interact with those features. If you want to put stuff in your chest you need to port back to town and open the chest there

While that is a handy feature, as I am suffering from the same problem as OP, unfortunately your guide does not seem to work as I am at the chest at town and it is still preventing me from depositing nor withdrawing by saying "Cant during quick ref"

If there is something I am missing, please let me know. It has been a while since I have played this game.

Just making sure, you actually click on the chest in town rather than just stand next to it but still use the "Quick Ref" feature?

The "quick reference" as the name suggest is for referencing information not for interacting with them (besides a few cases) so, if you want to say craft something at the anvil or take/[ut things into storage you need to go to the actual structures to do so.

However if you just want to see how many planks you have in your inventory without teeporting back to town then quick reference is your friend.
