Legends of Idleon MMO

Interested in playing but curious about P2W in the shop.
I want an Idle game, but any form of P2W or convenience that gives others an advantage over other players bums me out, how is that in this game?

New to the game, however after playing (mostly afk) for two days to kill time between task, I've been able to expand my inventory, progress skills, and acquire gems (P2W currency) in the game, without ever being prompted to spend money on cosmetics, skips, or membership restrictions like in other "Free" to play games. The most pay to win thing I've noticed would probably be the auto loot one time fee service, kinda silly to me that it's an additional cost for this concept of game, but take that with a grain of :steamsalty: cuz am new. Overall, pretty decent game so far, reminds me of old maplestory but somehow more simplistic lol.
this game is not p2w at all but sometimes it forces you to buy gems if u really want to progress FASTER, it doesnt means u could not reach it without buying things, its sometime just slower. worth a try! also keep in mind almost everything got limits in gem shop.
Heavy. The shop has a LOT items of convenience, some crutial, most of them strong. And some of the most powerful items are unique to the time limited shop.

The game is generaly generous with premium currency. Relatively large amount for "free" (requires quite progress tho), nearly infinite with a dedicated "grind". It can be part of natural progression (you earn some, you spend some), but the amount required is even higher.

Don't be confused with the genre tho. This is essentially a single player game due to almost no ability to interact with others, it's just nice flavor to see them around. Making each player progression separate. No (official) leaderboards and the fact the game runs client side makes it open to "cheats", like any other SP.

But the game gets quite complex, to the point money without skill won't really help while (almost) F2P can do extremely well compared to 99% of money spenders.

So if you want a very fun game with tons of twists and things to learn (you will need a guild, won't get far without the combined knowledge of veterans) go for it. If you have the need to "be better then everyone else to prove your place in the world", this game won't really do it.

Be adviced ATM the initial purchase of $5 is pretty much mandatory and can't be bypassed by playing. If you want to play active (which you want) you will need autoloot. Tho there might be an alternative added actually very soon, it's not there and it was not confirmed eithed.

Also keep in mind the game "idle" status can be a bit misleading. To be "good" the game is very active. While it can "do" its thing without attention. The various skills and abilities will want frequent checkouts to get most of them.
It is more pay to convenience than win. I am 100% f2p (will be playing 2 years in august) and i get plenty of free gems from many sources, i have never felt forced to buy gems and if you feel it, it's certainly you forcing yourself... If you are thinking of trying to reach top player status, that will realistically never happen as you would be 100s of thousands of afk hours behind forever. So best thing to do is just play at your own pace. The only REAL downside is there is no f2p version of autoloot yet*. Which is pretty much mandatory for the active play style as some classes will hit the lag cap within minutes now.

*sometime with pet followers apparently, hopefully

Small f2p review: I have a lot of fun with the management side, lots of skills which are more like mini games within the game. Which is nice, makes it feel a little less tedious. But i will say there are times, especially with new char set up, will take a considerable amount of time to get going. But i feel world 2 and 3 are much more smooth than they were when i started.

One more thing: there is a tierlist info graphic for f2players and what gem store items to get first, would help when you start getting a surplus.

At least i am pretty sure, the autoloot is treated more as a beta test to get it working for pet followers at some point, which i think is a good idea. It will also earn Lava some development kickback from people who cannot wait XD

There is a ton of p2w stuff in the store that you absolutely need to get if you intend to play this game. HOWEVER, you do get enough gems just by playing to get all the necessary things from the gemstore.

So over time you will get everything you need, and it's not really much of a grind either.
Just make sure to save your gems for the world upgrades, and don't spend them on junk like candy.
You might want to read my post on Why play Idleon on Steam where a little of what I posted covers reasons why you should invest a little cash into the game. I know some people like to spend lots of money during promotions in order to rush through the game, even I'm trying to hold back especially since I'm already finding it easier to level now that I don't really need exp+ exclusive items (although I might do much later on.) You can pretty much get everything you need over time just by playing the game and completing achievements without purchasing from the gem store, but ofc it'll be more slower.
