Fishing already has an incentive, and it just happens to be the biggest incentive in the whole game, which is the megalodon trophy, aka the single most powerful combat trophy, which eclipses all of the other combat trophies in the whole game - Trailblazer, King Food, YumYum Sheriff, Blunder Hero, Beach Bro, they are all no match for it. There's zero reason for Bobbin' Bobbers to be minigame dependent if the other efficiency boosting talents aren't.
I also don't really understand your second sentence, how is it chill that more minigame tries are locked behing paywall? That just exacerbates the issue if anything.
Both the refinery and Bobbin' Bobbers are flawed. Just because one issue is worse doesn't make the other issue a non-issue.
Meanwhile i could for expample dish those minigames in chopping minigame to acquire Grass Leaf which have very low ONLY AFK gain from trees, and they can be "farmed out" - to craft myself and my alt characters Amarok Paws which will help me progress.
Now, instead im locked down by some artifical wall that shoudnt be there.
And maybe you dont need it to progress to w3, but still i consider Cactus as W2 "Main" Quest line.
And you cant complete it without golrdric.
Even so it's the only way to get account wide(with merits) inventory bags F and H.
It's just terrible game design. I heard Lava saying about dungeons that he will "implement them while connecting to everything in idleon as one". If he is gonna do the same way he is doing with his "fun" minigames i think ill just drop the game.
If people want to min-max by the love of god - do it. Do your games, farm Baba Yaga every hour. Hunt for high score.
But there is plenty of people who just dont want to.
There was a quest when u first enter Desert for No hats active kills. If u are on first 2-3 character it's kinda "tedious" since u can do it but hat is like 60% of your stats.
Now imagine if he would change that quest to kill 500 mimics active with no hat.
I mean you could do it eventually. Probably it's gonna take you a lot of time.
But why would u make me do smth like this? It's not fun, it's not really challenging. Just frustrating.
Without doing Goldric's catching quest, you also can't start J-man's secret promotion questline to become a Maestro. So depending on how you look at it, it cripples one of your characters at the bare minimum.
I kinda like the way u can sky rocket your DMG from Choppin Points & Fishing Efficiency through successful catches.Maybe its a personnel preferences :P
See my dmg on my Chopping Mage went up like 200% cause of 92 Chopping. If i just try harder daily and can hit like 150 Points. I can ignore gears altogether just based on a good mini-game score.
And the reason u might want Bobbin' Bobbers to be mini-dependent is cuz Lava going to give an average efficiency gain instead. And its going to be lower than what most player can do if given time to practice the Fishing Mini-Game. o.o
Edit:
I thought deeper into it. And i realize a change in Mini game particularly for Chopping is a huge nerf to my Mage's dmg. Big NO - No Change :P
- Just try harder for chopping score, even a 60 point raises dmg by a lot - make sure u got 100 points in the talent.
-and like a lot of players im stuck at score of 9 on mining, but im getting better =) And most likely will hit 40 score with-in 100 trieds o.o Not giving up is better than asking for a nerf across the community =) - understandably its a weird game design.
**The secret is , your max score that dictates your dmg/efficiency is permanent
Well, like I said earlier, I hated doing the fishing minigames for the high scores for Bobbin' Bobbers, because it was essentially forced upon me. If I hadn't gone for it, I would have been suffering today from having very mediocre fish farm due to poor fishing efficiency. Mining, Choppin and Catching have never made me feel forced to do them, aside from the quest requirements, although not having proper choppin it up ez boosts will kinda suck in the super late game, when I run out of things to upgrade.
I also don't understand what you meant in the third paragraph, mind explaining it?
