No, it's pretty much useless and the only thing it does is give you 1 extra completed quest for Quest Chungus

Is there any way to access the tutorial after you've started playing?

I would also like to know this. I just got started on this game, but I will have serious doubts about continuing if there really are permanent missables like the tutorial secret.

Unobtainable items and permanent missables are the absolute worst aspect of online video games. I don't want to get into this game if it has things like that.

The only way to do the tutorial again is to launch the game on a new device (a new phone, a new PC, PC if you've only played on the phone or vice versa). You'd have to create a new account though, can't obtain it on your existing acc or even any other account created later on the same device. It sucks :tbpsad:

Agreed.
There's also the special Steam item that you can't obtain if you weren't playing during the Steam launch.

That... really sucks. I'll probably just stop playing then.

The Steam items in question are a necklace and hat that give minor bonuses that you outgrow pretty rapidly. Pretty important with your first character, not so much later.

The only other things you could miss that I'd say you have to look out for would be a hidden requirement achievement for not using oil during the mining/smelting tutorial or bringing your own forged bar ahead of time and not getting shot by Bandit Bob when you first meet him. The first can be done on any new character. The second is a one chance per character to talk to him from a platform above him to get his card.

It's not about the bonuses, it's missing out on an item that honstly should be given to everyone who starts playing on Steam, any time. Though with how limited the bank space is, not having two extra items is a blessing. Yeah, the game really has a long way to go.

Had no idea about that hidden achiev btw, thanks for mentioning it!

Edit: No, wait, I did smelt some bars without using oil during the tutorial, got no acheiv for that. How? :tbpsad:

I'm referring to the one with Glumlee on a barrel called "Pro Gamer Move". It might just need you to bring a bar with you that you forged on another character. THAT definitely worked. You'll have multiple characters and they all level faster than the last so you have time to get this.

I did manage to get the Pro Gamer Move achievement. Then I realized that it gave me gems for getting it. Rewarding a missable quest/achievement with store currency is also pretty lame.

Like, I get it. Having achievements like these, the tutorial secret, ways to go about cheating the system (like keeping Gummies tutorial oil). It's fun and I'm glad the game has those sorts of things in it. But as soon as they become permanently missable (even potentially missable, such as if you used up every character slot, so you can't get the Gummie's Oil or Bandit Bob one, or heaven forbid miss out on the Journeyman class because you aren't looking up spoilers on the internet) and completely inaccessible, THAT is just SUPER lame, and it makes me wanna drop a game for good.

Make it so that you can replay the tutorial after grinding/unlocking something in the late game. Make it so that you can grind a super rare late game item that let's you change classes (to get the Journeyman in case you missed it). Slap an expensive item in the normal shop (not gem shop) that lets to choose a quest that you've already completed, and mark it as unfinished (so you can do the Gummie quest, or the Bandit Bob quest, if you missed the secrets the first time through).

These solutions can be locked behind intense grinding, huge amounts of gold, end-game content, etc.. Just make it POSSIBLE to do, and that is enough for me.

bandit bob thing is pretty obvious on your second character, the journeyman is a bit harder to notice but still most people should find it. There will also be more character slots in the future so that gives people more opportunities. With how long it will take to unlock those slots people will have found out about all of these things by then and will be able to do them. You found this thread now, so you could easily get anything you missed on your 8th character, if you are already at 7.

The tutorial secret isnt anything you are missing out on if you didnt manage to find it, but there is no harm in letting people do the tutorial again, so that would be a nice thing to add.

I do also agree that there should be some kind of character reset, let people delete the character or just restart it or something. Would help to solve a lot of peoples problems with making too many of the same class or picking the wrong name and stuff like that.

Indeed. Thankfully the game is still in early access so Lava will be able to implement changes like that. I'll keep an eye out. If those issues are fixed then I'll probably play again.

The only concern with people deleting and restarting characters is probably the Gems they'd get as quest rewards. Can't be allowing methods to limitlessly farm premium currency now :)
