Did you not think it was odd that none of the characters had body armor in the trailer and in the screenshots on the store page? The dev has answered reasonably. If he can do it, he will do it, but until then he can not.
You're sounding like the typical "I quit" online player who doesn't actually quit and sticks around for whatever reason. You've made your point. Just move on with your life already.

The armor boosts stats thats the main reason obviously, to help with game progression and balance what nots.
