Which pickaxe is better Poopy Pickaxe or Dementia Pickaxe?

The Dementia Pickaxe has better speed and 1 higher mining power to start with, but the Poopy Pickaxe has 6 slots which means it can end up with higher mining power than the Dementia.

Even the Void pickaxe would end up with lower mining power using upgrade 3 stones, though it is a bit better balanced out by 8% mining efficiency instead of 2% and more speed.

So is there any point to getting the Dementia pickaxe?

Yes because the speed is the only thing that matters! You really only need poopy for the event def stones as another source of defense.

You would wanna look at the AFK info screen and see which pickaxe nets you more ores/exp. But the poopy part is pretty poopy indeed. Unless you need the higher mining efficiency to be able to scratch the %5 chance of getting an ore.

Yeah the efficiency is the problem, my main miner is only at lv 41 and with cards and talents is still barely able to mine dementia.

It is only useful if you need the extra mining power to get an ore you wouldn't be able to get otherwise, but assuming you have good efficiency, the dementia pickaxe will easily outperform poopy pickaxe due to its superior mining speed. More practically, poopy pickaxe is just a vessel that carries event upgrade stones for that juicy total 21 defense boost.

I've got most of the mining skills to lv 100 already along with like lv 40 mining stamp and a bunch in statues as well as cards, but still can barely mine Dementia. I dont see what else I can do to get more mining efficiency

If you dont already, consider mining obols, alot of alchemy, the right cards plus card sets, prayers, the right gear and post office min lvl 200! I also only have the platinum pick but get an eff. of around 250k

I don't know how many of these things you have currently going on, so consider these tips as general tips:

Try to go for the skilled dimwit prayer and level it up as much as you can. That one boosts skill efficiency like crazy (albeit it also kills skill exp, but once you have lvl 45 in mining, that downside is irrelevant), and equip easy resources card set for even more skill efficiency.

Then you should invest as much as possible into alchemy bubbles, namely Roid Raging, Warriors Rule, Hearty Diggy, Wyoming Blood, Stronk Tools and Prowesseary, and as for vials, when you gain the ability to mine void ore, void ore vial boosts mining efficiency further (You can use big pick skill to get 1 piece and use it for the vial immediately for easy 1% mining efficiency increase btw, even if your base efficiency isn't enough to afk at void yet, considering how the skill works).

Additonally, you can also invest boxes into dwarven supplies in the post office if you are using a dedicated miner.

If you don't have good obols, it can be a good idea to pursue mining obols by purchasing Decent Obols in the alchemy shop every day. Those have a 4% chance of dropping Silver Obols of moderate mining, which give a nice 2 mining power and 1 str point each, and you can equip multiple of them, or alternatively you can try to combine them for a higher quality mining obol (You can also buy obols from the gem shop if you have gems/real money to burn to skip the whole process, all up to you).

Also use mining equips, such as Cavern Trekkers, Dirty Coal Miner Baggy Soot Pants and Viking Cap, and T3 upgrade stones from W3 on your equips (You can also try mystery upgrades stones to try and clutch increasing mining efficiency on your armor pieces with mining efficiency, but those are hit and miss, as they can reduce the stat instead, so I don't recommend using those very much, and with pickaxes, you should just avoid those entirely, because the extra mining power from the regular stones are the king here).

For food, golden peanuts can be helpful, but since they use a lot of copper to make, make sure you have a lot of copper, so you can still benefit from copper collector to the maximum. 200-500 golden peanuts should be good enough, any more than that is currently unreasonable with the severe diminishing returns of the golden food, even with buffs to golden food effects, unless you're really drowning in copper ore. Golden jams and life potions can also be somewhat useful for the Hearty Diggy bubble, but keep in mind that the alchemy bubble itself suffers from the same diminishing returns like meat shank talent skill does, so it probably shouldn't be your priority. Icing Ironbites can then be used to boost your mining speed for more afk gains, but it won't have an impact on the skill efficiency itself.

W3 also allows you to increase your talent levels via the library, so it might be a good idea to push that as high as possible.

For star signs, make sure to use dwarfo beardus, and once you gain the ability to equip 2 of them at once, use muscle man or the big comatose as well, depending on your playstyle.

I hope that these tips are even slightly relevant/helpful to you. There are probably more sources of mining efficiency that I didn't mention/forgot about, but this should hopefully give you some ideas about what to go for next. There are guys mining lustre ore, which takes 500k skill efficiency to mine, and getting hundreds of them per hour when afk (this is super high end obviously though), so know you still have plenty of room to grow.

Ive bin testing this, the poopy pickaxe on my highest lvl miner who can mine plat vs my lower 1 that can mine gold. if i put them both on gold even though my higher miner has a higher efficiency by quite the margin the gold pickaxe gives a significant amount more ore. because it has 2 times the speed, so the poop pick seems to be good if you need a boost for hire ores but gives alot less per hour and i mean ALOT lol

I'd love to get mine obols, but the game hates me and only gave me chopping obols from the gem shop or worship ones from the liquid shop... v.v

I've heard someone say that even copper pickaxe gives them more ore than poopy pickaxe. Never really tested that myself, but damn, that speed really matters a lot.

Speed does matter, but if you cant mine the ore then speed is useless. It doesn't matter if you have max speed if you cant mine the ore.

Yes, I'm aware, but luckily there are many ways to raise the mining efficiency without having to rely on poopy pickaxe to get the higher level ores.
