Auto-dig bot now digging more slowly—no apparent reason

My auto-dig bot is digging more slowly than before. I do not know what caused this.
I'm at the point in the game where I've gone through the first 100 levels of the tower. I haven't done an MLC yet, but will soon.
Here are new things that happened today before I noticed the bot slowing down:
1) I did a couple of challenges.
2) Steam downloaded a new update from the developer.
3) I unlocked blow-power controller in the BLC store.
4) I unlocked and entered both Home and the Cheese Pub for the first time.
5) Unlocked the Holy Grail.
And other similar stuff. I have no idea--if anybody has any idea what is causing this, please tell me.

Of course I'm aware of the auto-dig bot and I'm factoring that into my observation. I said that the shovel is digging more slowly than it had in the past.

May be general frame dropping, which does slow everything down except the timers.
I generally run the graphics on "Low", otherwise it gets progressively worse over time from a leak of some sort.
