Wait for how many MLC coins before first Mega Leaf Crunch?

If I MLC right now, I will be rewarded with 14 MLC coins. Cosnidering that the new location (don't know the name or the purpose) costs 1000 MLC this seems like it's not nearly enough to do my first MLC. If I get only 14 everytime I'd need to MLC 72 (!) times before reaching 1000 MLC.

Am I doing something wrong?

I think you want roughly 40 coins for the first one, if you can swing it. The thing is, you want to unlock the additional tower floors. Once you unlock more floors, youll be getting thousands/millions of coins pretty quickly. If you can get the MLCx3 gem upgrade, it would help get there pretty quickly for ya.

To get 40 mlc coins you need to farm up 1e13 (10t) blc and will need the mlc x3 red gem upgrade. As for the area that costs mlc, you don't have to worry about it now as you will want to focus on your second mlc so you can get crunchy blc so your BLC doesn't reset after an mlc.

By your third mlc you will have plenty of coins to afford the area.
