Cheese disappearing

Why does my cheese mysteriously disappear right after I buy it using resources from the bartender in the cheese pub?

I checked that and it's not the problem. I traded resources in the cheese shop for 2.50K cheese and watched it get added to the stack and then disappear within a second. Then I tried it again directly after, trading for 2.50K cheese again and the same thing happened. Now I'm afraid to keep farming materials in the Dark Glade and buying cheese when it just disappears.As a result, I can no longer advance in the Pyramid.
