The "trick" to borbventuring is to a) reach the 11-30 level range with capes (they increase the BV level, and that level range provides the most borb runes from packs), b) getting Borbiana jones unlocked (if possible without the other special borbs), c) getting a full team of borbiana jones borbs, d) maxing out your socks and backpacks first (to reduce the BV refresh cooldown down to zero).
With a 0 sec refresh ninja borbs become really good. Because two of them can always reduce the borbventure duration to the 30 second minimum. Once you have maxed out your rings as well borbianas become no1 again.
Oh, the maximum item count is 91 (for each rarity). The more you have the faster you can farm more borb runes and tokens.
PS:
At the start you get most of your borb tokens from your converters. Later on you won't run out. Iff< you want to spend borb tokens on packs buy the common ones, they provide the best bang for your buck.
You can pretty much ignore the rarity, because your short- and midterm goal is the 11-30 level range. Starting with level 31 borbventures won't provide any random items anymore (your main source of borb runes).
This means you will reach the point of scrapping all further cape drops pretty fast anyways.
Another thing to keep in mind:
Since random common, uncommon and rare items will comes in droves from borbventures => try to only spend borb runes to craft epic and above items.
The Rare and below stuff will sooner or later reach it's cap and you will auto-scrap all further drops => hence avoid crafting anything below epic if you can.
It's a ressource like all others, if you can progress with them spend away.
Just keep in mind that epic+ items are a better place to spend your future borb runes on.
The one thing that is REALLY underwhelming: crafting random items for 20 runes a pop... i consider it a giant waste. ^^
PS:
Ribbons can all be scrapped (you will get more borb exp than you can use), BLC coins are rather pointless too, and glasses currently work additive (aka they barely do anything at all).
Actually useful stuff: a couple of capes, as much socks and bacgpacks as possible and rings (in this order). Hats and magic leaves are REALLY good later too, hats because you get much more runes and tokens from borbventures, and magic leaves because the increase ALL leaf rewards (including sacred/biotite/malachite/plasma/coal).
Stuff like leaf blowers, trouts, MLC coins and cheese can be useful as well, but i consider them low priority.
Overall borbventuring starts out slow, but gets much easier and faster over time.
With a total of 80% reduction (+20% from the borbventure shop) you have full heat immunity... that comes in real handy in firefield areas.
If you aren't in a hurry lower rarity heatshields will suffice, because 80% can be reached without epic+ heatshields.
Just because the Borbventure packs looked like card packs my mind thought they needed card parts or gems. It was only when I read this that I realised I should probably actually LOOK AT WHAT I'M DOING.
Don't worry, unless you did what i did: spend around 100k gems on borbventure packs (giant waste of gems).
And it's not like Gems are THAT much of a limited resource at my/your stage of the game.
And even if Gems aren't that much of a limited resource lategame, they're still better spent on new content upgrades and skips. Borb tokens can be gotten considerably faster than Gems, if you aren't actively trading for them.
