Also you can craft leaves with a global trade% modifier that really boosts the trades you get. Unfortunately leaves cost cheese to craft so in the mean time, trading is the way to start off.
Borbs convert at 5000 > 1 cheese. A level 1 cheese trade will get you 1 or 2 cheese (plus the 1 for trading). A level 1 borb trade might get you something like 1k borbs at most, not even enough to convert to 1 cheese. And it doesn't get any better at higher trading levels, borb trading just isn't worth it.
The challenge points trade is possibly WORSE, since you have to essentially start entire new games to get them.
Don't bother with the claw or slot machines either, since there's a huge amount of randomness to them and the reward isn't much at all.
So yeah, trading will be how you get cheese.
