Hope this helps.
As for MLC, it resets all upgrades in all third-tier shops, (those marked with **, as opposed to * for second tier or no marker for first-tier shops) as well as wiping all BLC. Fourth-tier shops (***) will not reset, and neither will your unlocked Unique Leaves, your Crafted Leaves, nor your counts for Artifacts, Equipment pieces, lifetime total earnings, (for trading purposes) and curse/crunch totals. (for the equipment pieces) Examples of fourth-tier shops include the Gems upgrade shop and the Mulch shop. You'll see a marked improvement in your ability to reach Tower again post-MLC, between your knowledge of the game and the boosts from equipment items, which remain in effect even if the equipment tab is locked. Most notably, Rings of BLC still give bonus BLC even if you can't access the equipment menu, meaning you'll make much faster progress.
Certain mechanics, such as artifacts and uniques, need to be unlocked before you can make use of them, however, but MLC also features upgrades that buff mechanics to make them permanent through MLC portals, which is quite handy.
ETA: Missed where the More Tower Rewards question was answered, whoops-a-doodle
Monkey and Crab will help you the most early on. Monkey helps push leaves and improves your screen coverage to make sure you're hitting everything, and crab just does a lot more damage.
Cat helps you slightly with gathering tokens. It's not a lot, but it is significant early on.
If you have a 4th spot, the butterfly is probably best now. Owl to make heavier leaves for more damage might also be good. At least, it used to be before all of these new options. It might just be obsolete with crab + butterfly.
When you unlock the grail and the token converters, the monkey, owl and cat are all obsolete, but then the fish is even more obsolete than it was already.
Should I start crafting some leaves? I did not touch them yet, somedoy said that it was more for the end game.
My preference is the High-Tech Drill, though that's more to do with a lack of originality than with any merits to the Drill itself, besides the strong blowing power.
MLCx3 is definitely the go-to upgrade, if it's between the two. It'll be fairly quick grinding back up to Borbs from post-MLC, and getting the MLCx3 upgrade now also means you're getting the most you can possibly get from your current BLC. 1e13/10 trillion, iirc, is the recommended amount for a "Tower Floors" first MLC. Anything less just buys some "Home-Tower phase" accelerating upgrades and saves at least 10 M-Coins. Doing this, though, means you'd have to go up to floor 100 a second time just to be able to buy the ability to climb up to floor 100 a third time before you can scale the 20 extra floors that wink into existence when you tell the MLC Shop's invisible shopkeeper to insert 40 coins into the Magical Happy Fun-Time Box conveniently located at the entrance to the Tower.
