Update 2.0 / Hardcore update question...

Any news on when we can expect a release window xD I think i made a post like this around 6 months ago and im really wanting to replay through CoM again (Wanna do a merchants guild run) but agter watching the video featuring the upcoming revamped/added features, I kinda wanna wait until it gets released.

So, i hate to be that guy but im only asking cause im a HUGE fan of CoM and i try and tell every single person who likes games in the RPG genre not to sleep on this GAME (and i say game cause i feel like calling it a mod doesn't give it the proper representation and when you mention "mod" to some people they tend to back out of trying it and besides, CoM (again imo) is better then 90% of AAA RPG's out today,

and FYI, im 100% letting you guys cook but like i said, im just excited to see how you just enhance one of my favorite RPG's in the last 10 years

This question has been asked a thousand times on this forum. The answer is still the same: late this year at best. Probably even next year.

So I suggest that if you want to replay the game - go for it. I have finished it 5 times already, trying different endings and builds and still feel motivated enough to replay it again after the hardcore update.

but i hope its not abandoned? and u still working in it? If u do a patreon or smth like this, I`m sure, many of us would support you

Not abandoned. We just currently can't work on it full-time as before. We had to return to our normal lives after December 2021 when we released the game.

Many things have changed over past few years - we now have careers, jobs, families to support etc.

We are not a paid studio that works 9-5 every day to meet the deadline. We are just people who currently devote only their free time to their hobby. This is still a hobby project that we develop after hours, most of us maximum few hours per week.

I would recommend to play the game - it's complete, we released it together with many patches, it's completely playable. 2.0 is just a final update from us, a sort of love letter, to both the game itself and the community. But waiting for 2.0 should not prevent you from starting the playthrough of the game. Actually RPGs like Archolos are designed to be played more than one time as there are multiple guilds and endings so there will be always time for a second playthrough when 2.0 comes out ;)

I will gladly wait next year for my next playthrough. It's already mind-boggling to me that a group of people would put such an incredible amount of work into a difficult, complex project such as Archolos for no direct financial return, so I think it's fair to let them work at whatever pace they find works best for them.

I'll be happy to play 2.0 once it's done and I'm sure it will be as exceptionally good and fun as the original release.

I think you heard it many times, but I just want to thank you and the team for the great game :) It's the best Gothic experience I've had and I've played G1&G2 like 15 times each when I was younger.
