Report a translation problem
The problem is that this isn't an old school RPG. We aren't some weak schmuck who barely makes it out alive. If they wanted to have an old school ending, they should have made the rest of the experience match, the fact that we have so much control over the rest of the adventure and are allowed to be such bad asses is what makes the ending, where our character just gives up without doing anything, feel so disconnected from the rest of the game.
What's unbelievable for most of us is the idea that the character we created would be content with just living in the colony, becoming an ore baron, instead of putting all his effort into finding a way to escape..
