Timed Quests / Jorn can die?
Hi Everyone
I read in another forum that some quest have an "hiden" timer. I mean if i dealy to complete any quest a few time, maybe any character can die or lose that quest (for example).
For me, the two npc at the cave in the begging appear died for example.

The question is: Jorn (my brother) just being kidnapped, It's possible lose my brother if i dealy that quest a lot of time?
How many timed quest are in Archolos?

Thanks to all.

Spoiler below for main story:

It just doesn't depend actually on time, but quests. If you follow only the main quests when you find Jorn he's still alive and you finish the game in Chapter 4.

As for saving that NPC it depends not on time but your decision who you followed.
Oh my, when does the counter start? I already did a lot of quests in chapter 1 before Jorn's kidnapping.

I don't recommend you try to get this secret ending because you will lose a lot of stories, things, etc. Games like Gothic should be play with calm. Maybe you can do that on a new game+

Playin ONLY the main quest? But thats BORING. And you cant even exlore after that.

They want me to ignore entire game content just to get "good" ending? Wth is this? I had the suspicion that this "find your missing relative" thing will turn out to be terrible. Hated it in fo3, hated it in fo4.

It's more like an easter egg really.

Truth is the other way is the cannon way.

Wait till you see the normal ending and you'll get it.

Also, don't you think that usurer's blade looked familiar...?

Could have sworn I saw it somewhere before??

It was on that Volk guy who visited the town with his two bodyguards.

I don't know what you mean buddy.

I just thought that sword looked cool and sort of familiar when I saw it.

Not sure what you're implying...

Eh? Its no about the sword, its about this whole timed quest thing. Knowing that i already failed to save Jorn (by playing the game like a normal person) - i dont have any motivation to go on. Reminds me of Metro - do get the good ending you have to complete the game like a tard - by stealthing every level.

Oh cool, I'd never think of that possibility!
I think it's clearly not meant to be a "main" ending, it being the "happy" one doesn't make it more fulfilling or interesting, but the fact that it exists is pretty neat imho

Knowing i can save Jorn, does it mean i have to give up on my brother to enjoy the game fully? That's a weird moral dillema to put in game) I always felt that main plot is a bit too urgent and pressing to enjoy the side quests, but i ignored it thinking "ah, its like when in Gothic 2 they keep saying that orcs are about to siege Chorinis but they never will" yet still i wanted to enjoy the side content when i make sure brother is relatively safe. Now i know it actually does matter whenever i do side quests or not, and not only that - the game also ends if you save your brother

Rushing main quest at expense of everything else is the opposite of enjoyable. Its not gothic experience. Let him die.

Did you play Gothic 1?

The sword looks identical to Scar's sword. Which incidentally was the strongest 1H weapon in that game, which is why I recognized it immediately, I spent a lot of time with it.

Also, people have posted how in the last or later chapter Marvin gets a giant scar on his face, looking identical to how Scar's is in Gothic 1....

Basically, this is a villain's origin story. It's not meant to be happy. A wrongly killed brother is par for the course.

You Are skipping so many quests then. That's not how you should play Gothic game, noobie.

right ... :steamfacepalm:

There are some other timed quests but they let you know via a message that you need to complete them soon.

The one's I've found involve getting kurt his money (gold rush).
Reconciling martha with her lost lover.
Riordians scribe scrolls.
Golden innoses with the paladin.

Good? It is everything BUT good ending. If it were a good ending, they would allow you to explore after that and Jorn could just wait you in harbor, but they just cut like 90% of the game for you, which means that you did it wrong. This is more like a punishment for a narrative worm who do not know how to play a gothic game properly. Like you've chosen it it to be like that, so here is your game, enjoy
