First chapter is pretty much an introduction to the mod and first area which is Silbach Village.
Once you manage to enter the Archolos City you can try to join one of two factions.
Have fun.
op is clearly wrong.
everybody reading this dont let op discurage you from trying the game!
So... good job, but IMHO need big addon.
Im not sure what you mean. Game gives you choices all the time. There are literally several ways to enter the city. If you only found one then maybe its not mod that is a problem here. And joining mercs at Onars farm led you into the upper city, same as joining city guard. Only difference were quests you did in the meantime, same thing in chronicles. Would you be happier if guild and city guard were not in the same city, which is by the way bigger than Khorinis and Onars farm combined? xd
Funny you say that, General Moroz, but there are five ways to get into the city (that I know of)
- by riding inside a barrel (you need to help someone)
- by doing tasks for the lumberjacks (takes some time)
- by going through the sewers (some difficult enemies there)
- by doing tasks for the chief of the first village - probably the easiest way.
- and finally by going there by boat :D
Oh and your progression is blocked mostly by enemies, but you can absolutely visit all important places in chapter 1/2 even. You can find better gear and quests in the world. Which again- you're not physically stopped from venturing into and there are even paths with weaker animals just like in other Gothic games. Not to mention better teachers.
In other words: your complaint has no merit. You simply did not explore the world at all, thinking the main quest ( which does tend to lead you from place to place more than the official games did at the beginning) somehow forbids you from doing that.
