Equipping new weapons
Through my adventures a have some extra assault rifles. I know that if a squad has them in the inventory I can equip that way, but how can I do it for other squads?

You have to bring the extra weapon to HQ, then move squad into it.

That is how it has worked for me. I'm not sure if you can manually equip squads at the moment.
