I think bad reviews are from people who picked a bad area to build their HQ, and the good are the people who picked the right area. So my plan is to try as many locations as possible within 2 hours.
Would wait for some big updates, the game really needs more stuff to do.
no its not
If the game looks interesting, try it, whats the worst that can happen? You not have $20 to pay for a bad movie?

Theres no elevation going on, its all flat.
Theres a ton of missing objects and assets and map generation seems to not pick up the buildings properly (churches are houses or other stuff, castles arent castles but something else, a supermarket i had on the prologue map was just a standard building etc.)
Especially water being ignored as water and a lot of specialities many cities have, like piers, rivers, harbors, castles etc are not generated.
So a castle just becomes an isolated group of standard houses and dirt paths in some rural area somehow turn into actual streets.
Same goes for loot distribution on those maps and the game doesnt seem to have the mechanics to compensate lacking contents on your map.
Aka you picked a map with few spots to get weapons from (especially Germany has often just police stations to get them), but you cant find the machinery or gadgets to create your own weapons.
That would keep maps viable, because if you get more food on one map but barely any weapons, you could at least find plenty of gadgets to create your own production there or find stuff that allows you to obtain it (like being able to perform expeditions to outside locations you know that have gadgets or weapons etc).
So my main gripe, holding me back, is that map generation and such is too basic and inaccurate, especially missing actual terrain.
Especially Elevation and water being non-passable is a must before this can be taken seriously.
