Partially adapted buildings

I think if I partially adapt an apartment block I should be able to partially adapt rest of it for other means, like half of it would be research center and other half could be medbay, unless I missed something

Yeah that is exactly the question i'd like to ask.

What is meaning of partially adapted building if you literally can't to anithing else with it?
You can't adapt unused part for another purpose, you can't even enlarge already adapted part.

Is it bug? Is it yet not done feature?

You can enlarge an already adapted part. Just do it like you would with a completely new building. The point is, that you can grow incrementally and don't have to spend resources for a huge building if you only need say a bit of storage space

I kinda understood that part and I am happy that I dont have to waste resources for entire block for singular piece, but it would be nice to utilize big buildings for more places than just singular place
